In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you an aggressive chess opening for White. It is an aggressive gambit from the Caro-Kann Defense, called the Milner-Barry Gambit or the Rasa-Studier Gambit, which happens after the opening moves: 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.f3.
White sacrifices a pawn for quick development and a sharp attack. This gambit is similar to the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit, which follows the move order: 1.d4 d5 2.e4 dxe4. In almost all of the lines, White is having a better position, ahead in development, and has a great attack going.
Watch the video lesson as GM Igor Smirnov also shares some nasty traps and pitfalls that your opponents may fall into.

Puzzle: Nxe4 queen sac wins! 1. If Bxd8, then Bf2#. 2. If Qxe4, then it got deflected from defending the d1 square and hence Qd1#. 3. And if Be2, then Qxg5 Qxe5 Qc1+ Bd1 Qxd1#
@TheAnshuman1974

After Nxe4 Be2 Qxg5, if white plays Bxg4, then simply Qxg4 and we are a piece up with a winning attack. The king can't castle, and we are still threatening Bf2+ or Qf4 or Rd8, all deadly attacking moves..
@StephenWhite55

The answer to the puzzle of the day, is: 1 ... Ne4 (threatening 2 ... Bf2# - if 2 Bxd8, Bf2 is still mate); if 2 Qxe4, Qd1#... Keep up the good work! As an ancient (67 years old) ex-player who's attempting to revive my 'chops' from the '70s, I'm really enjoying your content! I used to play the BDG (and this 'Delayed Fantasy' variation against the Caro) in blitz, so this particular video brings back fond memories. How about something on the Albin counter-gambit? I also used to love playing that, 'back in the day'...

That is very nice to hear, and regarding the puzzle white would not play either of the moves you mentioned and plays Be2 then there is not an immidiate checkmate tho' and i guess in the game white did play Be2 if i am not wrong.

Amazing video! There are a lot to play. The solution I think is Ne4. Whatever move white makes will checkmate on the next move. If bishop takes the queen, Its checkmate on by Bcf7+, If white queen takes the knight on e4, black's queen delivers a checkmate by Qd1+. No other move cannot defend checkmate to my observation.

The refutation to this is after Be3, black needs to play Qh4+ so white is forced to play g3, blocking White's own queen in the future, here, Bf2 is apparently not a good move as it essentially undevelops. After that, just go back to Qf6 and black is slightly better, according to engine. P.S. after that, whites best move is Qe4, black races to castle with Nd7, then white can play this crazy move Nb5 right then and there, and best move for black is simply Rc8, then Nxa7 Rd8, O-O-O then Qe5 to trade queens, regardless of Nxa7 being played or not. At last we arrive at an endgame with black pawn up and slight advantage. PSPS: extremely venomous opening even in the best line for black, huge winning chances for white
