I've loved mantises ever since I was a kid. I must have been around five when my mom found a mantis egg case in her garden. We took it home and kept an eye on it until it hatched, dozens if not hundreds of tiny mantises pouring out, which we then released back into the garden. Hell, my favorite Pokmeon is a praying mantis. Admittedly, one with scythes for arms, but still, a mantis.
