I love how at the end the German shepard turns to see the owner seeking approval, making it clear that he knows that he is the Alpha of the pack, but he is not the king of the hill. That is a very well trained dog.
@RustyBoysGaming well wolves don't even have alphas. Don't believe me? Look it up. Wolves are a parental hierarchy and the "packs" are family's. When the males mature they go out on their own and mate and create their own pack.
My GSD is 100lbs and I rarely have ever seen him in full alpha aggressive mode. But the first time he did, omg, I was so proud. The sheer way he can puff his coat out and make himself look easily 3 times his size and the confidence in his posture and the fact he doesnt bark makes me absolutely love him. He doesnt get aggressive that often as im an experienced handler and dont put him in situations where he has to be. Never feed him around other dogs or put food out randomly on the ground with multiple dogs roaming. The food clearly wasnt the rotts and the GSD was not done eating what was given to him lmao
Omg! My gsd girl is very bold and confident. Honestly, I admire it she gives me confidence in myself sometimes. Best breed ever. We actually met a baby Rottweiler yesterday and I'm curious how their breeds get along...
Mine passed away in 2020, she learned tricks we didn't even teach her, she just figured it out on her own. She was the best companion any one could ask for.
I love how after he displays dominance over the Rott, he turns to YOU to make sure he's ok to eat the food. Respect. He just made the chain very clear, putting YOU at the top and himself over the Rott. Great training.
Yes I noticed that there is a huge patch of pebbles behind the Rottweiler. The dog distinguishes the difference between the pebbles and the pebble-shaped food which is baffling.
You: "am I talking to myself?" You: " nahh I'm not talking to myself" Me: -saying my ABC's Me: "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" See how fucking stupid and annoying that shit is? Why do you doit.
I had a german shepherd for 14 years, best dog I've ever had. I recognize that posture, he got into a lot of fights with dogs running up when he was walking on a leash. He never started a dog fight but he finished quite a few. Rest in Peace Duke, you were a damn good dog.
We had a lab-shepherd female. she was 3-0 against 2 of our neighbors pits and 1 stray rot that was trying to eat one of our outside cats. Its like a video game or something, all shepherds have "Leadership" stats that make it smarter in combat.
My dogs name is Duke and this same situation has happened. Walking 100 ft into a very open field dog park, a golden retriever charges out of his car and directly to my shepherd. Him and I both unaware as we are going the opposite direction. Retriever was already on my dog and his owner not even out of the car yet. He handled him and came out with no injuries as I yelled terrified. Also went a little deranged on the owner myself, not my proudest moment as a human. But thankfully realized Duke at least is not one to start a fight. Incredibly frustrating.
Its chill submissive behavior to not start a fight, there is no such thing as "alpha" in dog packs, they are run like family's, with the older members being the leaders, besides, he likely looked back to see if the human was there to break up a fight if it happened. Wolves and dogs alike dont like conflict amongst pack members, and will split up fights before they get hurt.
THIS is what an ALPHA means. Not looking for a fight but ebsolutely ready when he/she have to. Thou he is not provoking anything. He is just calmly intimidates. Loved it.
The reality of the body language is that the German shepard was more like "please? I just want a bite, I dont want any trouble" His head was lowered as he looked up (a submissive sign in dogs/wolves) and his tail was low and still, all submissive body language.
we had a alpha german shepherd, he had very similar attitude like this one with other dogs. he had no fear to fight but at the same time won't just go into a fight with anyone. the are incredibly smart and the alpha are real alpha.
The Rotty licking his lips is a sign he was worried and knew he went too far with the GSD. The Alpha check at the end with the owner shows a well trained dog. Thanks for posting a very good display of pack mentality.
@@Groove23 i think what he was getting at was that the German shepard is the alpha dog, but it still looked back at its owner kinda like it was asking for approval.
@@rileyp3707 um. Just because the human gives a dog its food does NOT mean the dog views them as its alpha... at all. Have you ever seen 95% of dog owners with their dogs?!?! 😭☠️☠️☠️
@@Aizen_OX_ keep saying that until the Rottweiler turns about 2 or 3 they get way bigger than German shepherds, don't worry he will be the dominant one soon
Exactly. The German shepherd knew what he was doing and shit got serious fast, meanwhile the Rottweiler was gonna bark and snarl without landing much of a bite.
Rottie was all bark, no bite. Kept licking his lips, meaning he didn't want to scrap, and backpedaling. Shepherd knew and did not escalate the issue. Well trainer, stable doggo
My Father used to breed German Shepherds and they all had their own unique personalities, this particular shepherd is a very confident canine not wanting conflict but will not back down either ! Gentlemen dogs ...
Mine too! Same way as this shepherd. Acted human. You could talk paragraphs (it seemed) and he was welcomed everywhere and known all through town. Felt like I lost a little brother when he died....had to do it myself. 10 years from now I'll still treat the driver like it happened yesterday, if I ever find him.
So what made the Shepherd decide it was safe to proceed? Was it the bark? I'm thinking if it was serious the Rot would have growled instead of bark. Was it the slight tail wag when the Rot barked? Did that signal "I'm not wanting to fight just to get the food if I can"? At some point the Shepherd decided to step forward for a sniff or a test. Did the sniff tell the Shepherd this dog is not serious? Or was the Shepherd saying - I'm coming in and if you want to fight we will? The Rot was doing a lot of tongue licking - was that part of the communication ? The Rot leaned backward slightly as the Shepherd eased in - it seemed to be settled at that point. And what made the Rot back down? - Not looking for a fight from the beginning?
Rottweiler: "Your time is up old man!" Alpha: *Leans in* "Take the first swing... Go ahead" Rottweiler: "Aaaah... you know I was playin with you dawg..."
When that Rottweiler gets a lil older it could rip the sh1t out of that German shepherd.i should know I've had 4 rottys in my life and 2 of them come up at 150 lbs.that was the males and the females wernt that far behind.ive beat a police German shepherd off my left arm easy before and my.friend beat two of them so bad thay needed vet treatment.shepards ain't all that.
This is the same mentality that the United States took in WW-2 on two fronts. And is why we aren't speaking German or Japanese today. Unfortunately we have turned into a nation of Bata's. And the few Alpha's we have left are told "your mean and un-needed" The vast majority of young men under 30 today have never been punched in the face or gotten there ass beaten. And then decided to get tuff. So when it happens again, there not on the losing end again. The worst ass beating I took was the last one I took. You learn real fast how to fight or be someone's bitch.

Indeed. Nice how the rottweiler began to change his aggressive attitude when the gs approached, diverting it to licking his nose; and how and the gs reacted immediately, knowing the rottweiler had given up and shown submission. The gs ears change at the end are very telling. You can see too how change the hair on his back.
@@juancarlosbuenaventura5782 Also nice to see how the gs checks out the owner before actually eating the food. Like: he submitted it to me, but is the big boss okay with me actually taking it?!?
@@mikek7198 the term alpha is referred between wolves, in this case dogs so it’s obvious that he would look back at the owner. they’re not wild animals
The so called owner is an idiot for filming this. He should have never let this happen or have broken it up. What if this got ugly there would have been no winners.
@@bigdogstreetperformance6761 you dont know dogs then. Dont you know you cant disrupt these types of meetings or the dogs will never establish roles. If u let them fight just once without breaking it up, they wont fight again. But if u break it up it causes "unfinished business" and they will keep going at it until they come to an agreement.

One of the things I learned while doing my old job as a meter reader for the electric company...there is no dog more dangerous than a healthy and confident German Shepherd... Where most breeds can't control their impulse to alert, or their desire to attack, the Shepherd uses stealth, cunning and discipline to it's advantage... I've had Shepherds intentionally hide in their yards and wait until I was far into their perimeter before attacking...it's as if they intentionally waited until I got to a position where they felt they could beat me to the fence line... I worked in very poor neighborhoods, with many Pitties, Rotties and other more hardcore outdoor guard dog types, and the two closest calls I've had were ambush style attacks by hiding Shepherds...
hahahhaahh damn dog was watching you all the time and waiting for you to get to a point where he knew he could run you down quick hahaaah. i bet it was just a game for him. side note, i know a couple meter readers thats retiring this year.

Rottweiler: FU man this is my food get outta here Shepherd: What was that ? Sorry can’t hear you let me come a little closer Rottweiler: oh nothing Shepherd: that’s what I thought
I’ve always loved how German shepherds get quiet to dead silent - speaks volumes (ironically) & shows their intelligence & dominance. Much like people. Loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room
@@lillythebunny2905 The tail is not wagging, the lips are pulled back, teeth are bared, growling and barking these are very clear and obvious signs of aggressive behavior. Btw before you suggest it, it has nothing to do with the dog being a Rottweiler.
The thing here is that there is no alpha. There's simply a dominant one. People use the term "alpha" incorrectly and use it to imply the strongest individual in a particular group, especially in wolves. But in wolves who are most likely referred to as alpha wolves, they're not truly the strongest individuals. They're just the parents of the pack. If there's an off chance that one of their children fight for dominance and wins, it still doesn't become alpha. It's simply just stronger and fighting is still unlikely as some wolves leave when they're old enough to start their own packs and become the alphas of that one.
@@randomkinkajou5747 I didn't say there was something wrong with that. If you keep trying to start something fine, I'll just let your dumb ass ream at nobody while you're sitting in a dump pile
So interesting. The German Shepherd stares and then approaches to see if the rottweiler tries anything. The Shepherd pauses as if to say now is the time if your bite is worse than your bark. Rottweiler has to strike or back down as the Shepherd lowers his head and moves in on him as if to dare him. Animals are fascinating.
Nevah happen...just like the well-trained "police dog" that he is, he took control of the situation & calmly proceed to eat the rottie;s chow....right in front of him! When a bark wasn't returned, that serenity immediately & totally de-escalated the confrontation on the past of the rottie! Proof being, he even backed away & ceased his grimacing. That Shepherd was OUTSTANDING!
@@M21L35 police dog? Police use working line dogs from Europe. This clearly isn't a working line dog. They might as well be 2 separate breeds because they have nothing in common.
This is a decent representation of human interaction aswell. The loudest person in the room is almost invariably the weakest because confidence is silent. Bravado is the hallmark of insecurity.
