That and people underestimate the damage a Sniper that survives/lives does compared to a Sniper that is dead but has a ton of damage items :)

@@Six_slotted right click, movement speed, evasion. he needs not much of damage during this game since he does have Slark, Doom. On the other hand if he got caught by pudge/lina he will be dead with just damage items.

That, and higher mmr players are considerably worse at prioritizing targets, and initiating/going on the backlines in general. So in low brackets, it *is* legitimately suboptimal to not build damage on sniper, since you're less pressured by the enemy team, and your defensive items are inherently less valuable since they're basically un-needed. In contrast, put a sniper with a deso, MKB, shadow blade, and Daedalus into a high mmr teamfight and the enemy team will notice this, catch the sniper, and kill him without question. The reason this keeps coming up in his sniper streams/replays is that low bracket viewers see will Waga w tank/defensive items right clicking an enemy carry and think to themselves "MY build would be doing way more damage here", and they'd be exactly right! It's just that playing like that fundamentally does not work against enemies with the game-sense/knowhow to reliably get on top of you, and a dead carry does 0 dps.

Waga was around way before topson started to exist. And also has created many meme/OP non conventional builds before anyone has first. Back in the days I created magic jugg before Waga but I’m not a famous streamer. But in this case if you’re saying he copied topson, you’re wrong. Waga did it first. :)
