It is probably the most popular Greek dish after Moussaka, though it is different on different islands. On some, it is served on the bone, but in Crete it is usually pieces, which I don't like so much. It's history is that thieves used stolen lamb or goats & cooked them under the ground, to hide the smoke
Hele mooie video!!! Dank je wel! Ben al een paar keer in Agios Nikolaos geweest, echt de moeite waard. Hebben toen een trip naar Spinalonga gemaakt, met als gids Viktor "Zorbas"Arditi, onvergetelijk zoals hij vertelde over het voormalig lepra eiland. Viktor is helaas niet meer onder ons, in 2017 overleden en ligt begraven in Nederland.
Great video Zameer... with all these videos and advertising you do for the different places in Crete, the mayors of each town should be putting you up on 5 star hotels to stay...hahaha... You should talk to major hotels in the different towns you visit and have them sponsor those videos...then again if you do that you might not come across as authentic as you do

4:37 we got coffee and lunch last year. They had a fantastic katsu sandwich which was random to find but very nice. 5:48 This place is called Karnaio... or however you spell it. Very good meats here. Get the dish with the pork skewered over potatoes with a mustard sauce... so good.
