This sounds really sad and it makes sense. Sad and heroic is unfortunately what this Trunks OST is and in a way, I feel bad for him since he always tried to protect what he could but he always loathes and pities himself over his failure to protect everyone he loved. He lost Gohan, who was his master, from the androids just so that Trunks would have a chance to save everyone and Bulma, his mother, from Goku Black just so that he could warn the present timeline’s version of Vegeta and Goku about it. He may have saved everyone but unfortunately he lost everyone he knew by their sacrifice to save him just so that he could fight another time and even then, his timeline was destroyed completely thanks to Zamasu’s immortality to the point that Zeno had to erase the entire timeline for that. Looking at it is just really sad but he definitely now has a new timeline to adjust and live with Future Mai and everyone in that timeline as well.

That’s kinda the reason I don’t like how the arc ended. Everything and everyone (save Mai) that he was fighting for, is just gone. Like they were never important in the first place. The theme fits it so perfectly cause “congrats kid, you literally fought your whole life for nothing lol suck it up and move on somewhere else”
