My husband and I demoed this at a convention with one other person, dealing with crowd noise, interruptions during the explanation, etc. Our feelings were so mixed! It feels overwrought with small little rules and details that had us constantly asking questions and checking the rulebook. However, it intrigued me, and I found myself thinking about it during our next demo. We debated buying it, but in the end, decided to wait. It is a game I would love to play again, and I thought about it so much after our play. It just feels like such a beast to commit all these rules to memory. I wish it had been trimmed a bit. I think it could have retained its depth with less rules complexity, and then I think it would have been a favorite. Right now, I am still thinking about whether it’s one we could actually get played if we buy it. Thanks for the play through!

I passed it up... even at $25 NIS. I want to love this because of how beautiful it is, but it's a big time investment to play a decent Euro.

Loved to hear that Edward was "mentally spent" at the end of this one! I felt the same way after playing it - kind of how I felt after playing Arkwright: Waterframe, Ora Et Labora, Brass, High Frontier the first time. I have high hopes for future plays of Agra myself!

At roughly 1:08, as part of Edward's Sailor action Tony states you could return a second good to deliver a third resource to a Notable (specifically cotton). However, I believe the rulebook states you can only return one good to deliver additional goods to the notables and the guilds. It's the value of that one good that determines how many additional goods you can deliver.

When you move a guild marker to a yellow line space, you receive either favor OR a new favor marker but not both. Edit: Never mind. I see you corrected this later in the video.

curious - how are you including the comments in the stream? Are you using OBS or a different tool? Nicely done.

Are Tony's Teaching notes available on BGG? They seemed pretty useful.

About the type of goods to give to the boatman for the delivery to the emissaries: you say around 1:10:00 that you probably you never want to overpay him to have 1 rupee back. But I am thinking: at the end of the game goods are worth nothing so, unless I can use that piece of goods for a higher reward, I may exactly want to overpay the boatman. And I am thinking that also in connection with that emissary that allows you to use goods up to a total of 4 flags... money money money (points points points), no?

26:55 I believe clothes cannot be worth 1, as maximum change for the original price is +/-1

Yup, they can only be raised/lowered by 1, which we clarify during the gameplay. Thanks for the catch, jagga68 and for watching!
