Trusting the system is right! I'd give in and pull a hose over. 😂 No rain in the forecast either. It's still early April. Could be nearly two months before we get the rain. Your trees and plants look like they're surviving well even with how dry it's been. Thanks for the update. This is helpful to see just how well this works even during a long dry spell.
Definitely interested in the dryland strategies. Even though we've had an unusual amount of rain so far this year in Southern California it's going to get real dry real quick. We could definitely benefit from others wisdom and experiences.
I bought the everglades tomatoes from Pete Kanaris but I'm interested in the yellow ones you have. Next time you see Pete maybe you can talk him into selling them? He says he can barely keep the everglades in stock so I assume those would sell well.
What is the purpose of the pond? Does it just help the plants nearby by allowing their roots to reach the water underneath or do you pump the pond water to water the plants when needed?
Either way. I did the trays because I wanted to have them ready for another project. If you direct seed they need some water to germinate. Or wait until the rainy season
Do you think an Ice cream bean tree will provide too much shade for my veggie beds? the sun is brutal here in Orlando and I am thinking I can use it as a living (nitrogen fixing) "shade cloth" and I can probably manage pruning to allow more sun if needed. What you think?
@@WhatsRipening thanks for reply/advice. Excellent videos/content/project. Another question: do you know the yellow tomato variety? seems pretty drought/heat tolerant.
