As some noticed, I was listed as an employee of AGS. I supported them in the beginning and was listed as an honorary founder because I consulted with them when they started but have never got a pay check. In fact, I’ve never even gotten a grading voucher :( Either way, it doesn’t matter cause AI computers don’t know who’s cards belong to whom. If they did, I would have gotten better than these grades lol.
I really like the idea of artificial intelligence and computer grading cards, that’s mega for consistency.. something human error will never achieve. Concerned though with the Espeon being genesis and not discovery.. also the Skyridge Zard being Holo on the label which is incorrect.. shoulda been reverse Holo.
Thanks for the video gary, would love to see this be a weekly or monthly video. You submitting and trying different companies and giving your thoughts on the grades. I actually like CGC labels and slabs, but prefer BGS overall. Would also love to hear more about the slab feel,clarity & size comparison vs big 3.
hello gary. i am from germany and have my cards rated by very strict german grading companies. Since these are mainly vintage cards, it is very difficult to get high ratings. As you have correctly noticed with your experience, the PSA ratings are very lax with regard to evaluation of centering and also damage to corners and edges (for me that was very clear when comparing purchased psa cards to my eu slabs). In the meantime, many card dealers buy up european 8 + 9 cards, crack them and crossgrade to 10 from PSA. I am therefore personally pleased that all other companies have stricter grades and that psa has now adapted a bit and stops throwing out too many "bad" 10s . greetings from germany and stay true to yourself ..
Wow! It was incredible to see not only such beautiful cards but how they are grading them. Seems like the grades are a little harsh but knowing it’s all robotic and with no bias is fantastic. Great job with this video!

I like it when grades are tougher. It really makes the population of each 10 that much more impressive. Really good video Gary. Overall what would you rate this service?
Me too Aaron. I love that finally we’ll have an impartial company that’ll offer a service where only the cards condition is considered without mistake.
Much better. Having people grade your cards is wack! They have good and bad days. Always hated PSA or any other grading service. But this I can get be hide and agree with.

Hm... I really like the cases similar to PSA, doesn't really destroy the continuity if you decide to grade with them after having a small collection of PSA cards, I also enjoy the box they come in and the fact they already seem to have perfect graded sleeves on that said though I really wouldn't want to see a situation similar to CGC where you send in 2000 cards and none come back as a 10, I'm not saying they NEED to be more lieneant, it's just simply a preference of mine to have the ability to get a 10 without having to rely on a miracle lol. Also, nothing I can do, I really really hate the decimal grades, I would much rather have a 50% chance to get a 9 than an 8.5 but hey. I checked the site too and in 10 seconds I think I've found a typo already as well, at least the text is not written by robots it seems lol. In the "Our Pricing" section where they talk about insurance, it's always "upto" instead of "up to". English is not my first language so I might be mistaken or it may be a location thing, I don't know :P
Ultimately this means you have a less prestigious label brand and a lower grade too. They’re gonna have the same problem CGC has. Besides that I don’t want a computer to grade my card, computers can be really dumb, and AI is not really a thing yet, more like just a marketing gimmick
"Neo Geneisis" Espeon from Neo Discovery lol. Interesting to see the results, I think I would prefer if all companies graded using this process, rather than by a random employee which might make a mistake and make the grade higher/lower than it should be. Also like that it is not possible to keep sending the same card over and over until it gets the grade you want. The label looks ok, nothing special (seems very PSA-ish) but there are definitely much worse designs out there.
I think Robo-anything takes jobs away from us. But this definitely takes human error out of the equation. Hopefully there’s an automatic dust blower that blows off any dust/hairs before packaging. Just my opinion.
PSAs upcharges are inflated . If not they would be transparent and show actual costs associated with the insurance they have to carry. It is a bad business practice and the industry is telling them no more by supporting other companies. Also I'd love for you to explain the inconsistencies in PSAs grading over the last 20 years...I've got a playlist full of even the most ardent PSA collectors noting their abject failures in this area.
