Unfortunately the concept of an Agunah is an extraordinarily painful and shameful one for our community, so there are limited avenues that allow for safe, unapologetic space to discuss it. Mainstream community channels are regulated by the very establishment that has failed to implement halachically approved policies. The conversation thereby becomes labeled as a confidential and sensitive one, when in fact there should be unequivocal and vocal support for highlighting this crisis through whatever means necessary.
Together we will overcome our personal, hashkafic, and professional differences to center the voice of our chained Jewish sisters.
