Suga came up with the story of this MV himself. He's killing his past self (the king), he made an agreement with the butcher at the start of MV (the eye contact at
Fun fact, in his Vlive vlog about D2 he talks about two tracks being essentially 'traps with poison', and that he was amazed how many people still sprung those traps after all these years. Daechwita being one of them. Clever guy.
There are 2 characters, Suga(Agust d) as the king and Suga as the bottom class. Daechwita is Korean traditional music that was played when King was move about or Army would be marching so literally here the bottom class Suga is saying "he is the king". King suga is the king of Korea's history who was tyrant and beheaded people. The king actually represents 3 big companies in korea who had power back then and kept bts away frm the throne bc BTS was frm small company with no money. The bottom class Suga with the help of bts (6 other guys) and army (bts fandom's name) who was represented by a girl that gave the car key to him.Suga dethroned King and become the real king. Now they are on the throne as he said he(BTS) is better than anyone. People who bumping their head was Army as well. This is masterpiece and i lik the part he said: others can only dream of what i have but now i got everything and i feel bored and disappointed but u won't know how i feel bc u've never had any of this😂😂 u CAN watch explanation of this mv on DKDK TV channel.💜💜 also he did every little thing of the mv by himself(i mean quality, the story, idea.. everything was that he wantedto be.) this masterpiece song was produced by himself. This song that has mv and his mixtape are hip pop not kpop.
A bit off topic, but I find it very interesting that the mixtape kept bringing up the military , probably because Suga is annoyed at journalists bringing it up because they over sensationalise it ( Korean men have mandatory 2 years service and as per the law Jin and Suga of BTS could soon be going because of their age, and the media is jumping on that ).
Daechwita is a marching music for the king. That's why Agust D is saying play it louder in the beginning. The original daechwita sound is sampled in the beginning before a cow comes in
As I said earlier, I am new to your channel. But what I truly like is that your music taste is eclectic. You cover many genres and I truly appreciate that as I am the same way. I'm still trying to catch up on your videos and am looking forward to seeing your Cypher Medley reaction (it really is the best ever) but for now I am very tired and need to try and get some sleep. I hope you guys are happy, healthy and safe! Much love!
Daechwita' is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of royal military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching in parade. 'Daechwita' is usually played when a king goes out, when they return from a war with victory, or when a guard changing ceremony is held at a royal palace in Joseon Dynasty from 14th century through 19th century, the old Korea.
