Part of what Yoongi may be imparting is that it is our choice how we process the adversity and suffering that come (which we do not ask for). We let them overcome us or we push them back, lock them in the compartment (amygdala), learn from them, and move forward. The choice is ours to make. Yoongi chose to overcome and keep moving forward, believing there has to be some resolution out there in his future (proven true by BTS success and his success in his individual projects).

Sometimes we take them out, pull them forward just to acknowledge how far we have come. Allow us to appreciate the strength we did not realize we had, perhaps, all along. With that appreciation, we should then be kind to oursleves, love ourselves more instead of beating up ourselves over elements we can't control. This MV is powerful. It is equally inspiring.

I cried while watching this MV because it really hits hard. The rawness of Yoongi's emotions makes it so easy to relate to him and what he has been through. Still, he is brave enough to overcome the struggles and now shares this with us to spark hope that if he got through it all, so can we.

This MV / song is not just a simple MV / song, but part of a story of his life, so proud of him for opening up to us. He is one of the strongest person I've known for fighting all those struggles. His parent's illnesses, the motorcycle accident, and the self inflicting wounds, It all made him stronger. As he said in the lyrics "what didn't ki_ _ me only made me stronger, And I begin to bloom like a lotus flower once again". After his IU palette interview as he said " I am good now, I am mentally ok, I'm at peace now." something like that - it made me feel very happy for him. I salute him more and more. 🫡🫡🫡

Please note the split-second image of a hand holding almonds at 5:07. This is a reference to ALMOND: A NOVEL about a guy who has trouble identifying and describing experienced emotions because of a neuropsychologic condition (alexithymia). The "almond" refers to the amygdala, an almond-shaped area of the brain. Yoongi was seen reading this book in a preview to IN THE SOOP. The book is on Namjoon's recommended list.

My feeling when I watched the MV Amygdala, was very shocked, emotional and felt the same pain. Yoongi explained to us about a trauma that obviously won't be easily forgotten. It was very painful to see this MV for the first time. I learned that painful moments can't be forgotten, but we can control those emotions, little by little. Thank you Yoongi😭

I can't hold my tears when I watched the mv...😭🤧 The most heartbreaking part is the fact amygdala mv is not a fictional storyline but it is actually based on Yoongi's life, Yoongi's true inner traumas and feelings...😢 I have a deep appreciation and gratitude to Yoongi for sharing his stories to us. For me, it triggered me in a way especially that part of him holding a cutter and inflicting the pain on himself and the lyrics was "The best choice".. It is because I know those feelings. I've been there done that. We may have different memories and experience but the struggles he faced was so relatable to the point I saw myself in that video. I was full blown crying at the end of the video. Although it triggered me, I realized one thing. I realized how strong am I as a person. I realized that I am still here because I am a strong person. And I know I'm still in a long way of healing myself from my traumas but I'm moving forward now and not moving backward. Anyway, Fighting! 💜

The mv is makes me so emotional it’s hard to watch. And it made appreciate Yoongi, Agust D even more. He is one of the strongest person I have ever seen. I started crying after watching this... I myself am trying really really hard to not fall into depression and BTS songs makes me shed tears and loosen myself... I have always listened to Agust D to overcome fear and anxiety so this song is really hopeful and at the same time makes me feel sad for all the trauma he went through... I hope nobody goes through that... His raw lyrics are the only source of hope and light...💜💜💜

A certain amount of depression is normal and a sign of good mental health. Just don't stay there very long. I'm struggling with Harry Belafonte's passing today but am choosing to celebrate his memory and all he gave us. As Carl Jung said: "What is joy without sorrow ?". Take care and stay safe.

i couldn't stop crying. firstly, i felt a strong desire to just protect him. secondly, it made me think about my loved ones who've suffered... those with psychological struggles and traumas. this visualization helped me understand myself and others more. in a trapped room, i have a better understanding now. and lastly, i realized i've forgotten my own troubles and traumas but it's only because i've "forgotten" their names. they'll always be a part of me but i'll constantly fight them just like yoongi here...

first of all I want to thank yoongi for trusting us and share his vulnerable moments with us, it is not at all easy to put your struggles in front of world, so I am really really thankful for that, I am grateful that he share his heart with us...... I cried 4 times watching this MV, honestly It didn't really hit me hard when I saw the lyrics, I was emotional but I didn't cried, but after watching the MV, it woke up my emotions coz I am going through a lot too, of course my pain is very very less that what yoongi went through, I am 20 years old and I will go through struggles in the future too, and I will have to fight back and overcome it like yoongi did...... as a human being we all have to struggle, so that we can overcome tough time but the memories are terrible, you cannot undo memories and this is what happening with me, I want to forget some really really ugly memories but I cannot, I have to live with them forever but those memories are of course from my past, that made my present possible, that made today ME possible, if you are able to change a tiny thing from your past, it will change your whole present so it's better not to change anything but again memories are so painful and you have to live with them..... so I was able to learn yoongi's past, his pain he went through but after watching the MV I was able to relate MV and lyrics, I was able to connect it with my life, my pain... so yeah I cried a lot like A LOTT !!! to be honest after the MV I wanted to hug yoongi, give him a comforting hug, coz he went through a lot, he was in soo much pain and so many people say he looks cold n all..... I can see his heart is sooo delicate and soft, it needs to be protected, he went through so much which made his present self possible.... I just love yoongi and I admire him a lot💜💜💜💜💜

I have chills everywhere on my body every time I watch this mv. As someone who went through very dark and violent times, this speaks to me in such a hurtful but familiar way. I had a bit of hope when the agust d on the motorcycle ran to the agust d trapped in the bad memories and bad thought (aka the dark room), but that tiny hope crashed when he didn't manage to let him(self) out and he just surrended to all those bad things. This shows how hard it is to get rid of such dark thoughts, even if we want it. But the fact that he is with us to tell us his story is enough to say that he is still my hope. The hope I first had for him to feel better, now I have it for myself, too. I wish for every army to feel the same hope.

That part in the rain when yoongi remembers a “memory”, is how we remember things through stimuli. Both yoongi and agustd felt rain. Sometimes we have really forgotten them and then we just remember because of something we saw, smelled, tasted, touched or heard. I love this song so much.

i cried so hard watching the mv. I watched it numerous times and still keep on crying for the whole night. its painful too painful to even imagine what he went thru, which alot of armys who experienced traumatic situation can relate to. but at some point while watching, it also gave me a liberating feeling. that by the end of the day he was able to let all of this go and share this with us. when he said that all is in the past and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. He is now a blooming flower. To the Min Yoongi/Suga/Agust D of the past, present and future, IM SO PROUD OF YOU.

I cried when I watched this last night. I have watched Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala back to back to totally understand how the 3 is connected. I actually shared my interpretation to this one at Jose's channel. It was a long one...hehe. It hit me so hard and I just wanna share my opinion cause lots of theories are coming up that doesn't sync up at all. So my advice to you all...try listening to all Yoongi's lyrics mixtape/album, from Agust D, D2 and D-Day. Include all his interviews and explanation of his songs. Then you'll finally understand all the symbols in this mv...the scar, the pills, his visuals. (Cause we have past and present Yoongi and Agust D here.) Especially the last part of it, of why there's still the scarred Agust D in this mv even though Yoongi already killed Agust D in Haegeum. But yeah, I'd love to share every details of my interpretation to this but it will be like a novel. And Amygdala is sad cause I'm feeling Yoongi's pain. It is still hard. But if anybody needs to know about it or understand why the ending is like that....I will gladly share my thoughts to all of you beautiful fellow ARMY.

@@macl8494 Hello ARMY! I'll share part of my interpretation to this song, the one that I shared to before.... My Interpretation: I was actually tearing up while watching it cause now I'm not just reading/listening from all the lyrics about his life story....now I'm actually seeing it with my own eyes. Yoongi's pain, struggles and anger are all here in his memories....and it's not going away even if he wanted to. Even if he's already moved on from it and whose now emotionally stable. What I interpreted from the last part is I think the past Yoongi who was trying to save the scarred Agust D that was not saved...I think it's because that's his old memories, unfortunately the sad and painful ones stored into his brain that present Yoongi is trying to erase or escape from. But since it is his memories, we really can't erase or escape from it however we tried to. That's why present Yoongi...our Yoongi gave up from reaching to the door cause memories is something we can't just escape from. That's why we see the present image of Yoongi trapped in that room representing his amygdala with the scar on his face still. It only means that even if he's a new happy person now...he still have all those scars he experienced in his life. Yoongi was right, this is definitely the last chapter of Agust D. Agust D was his alter ego that was angry to the world and had lots of struggles in life. He said in his several interviews that Agust D is dead now. He's now SUGA . But the very sad part for this whole storyline for me....from Agust D, D2 and D-Day songs, Yoongi all tried to kill Agust D (which he did in Haegeum), but still Agust D remained in his memories. So he still remembers the pain he's gone through from time to time. Song reference are The Last, First love, Agust D, Tony Montana, People and Set me Free. These are some of it and of course the Trilogy songs Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala. Hope this helps. 😊💜

this song means so much to me. a horrendous incident that kept repeating for four long years eclipsed my once happier life. now i do not remember how i used to be before those things occurred. and now this song happened and every visual describing Yoongi's feelings were so similar to mine. i might have interpreted some of the scenes and lyrics in a different way but now i feel more connected to Yoongi, not only as an artist but as a human being too. i am honestly thankful that Amygdala exists and it coming from an artist that i look up to makes this song even more special to me. i am so proud of Yoongi and proud of all the people who are still striving through all their struggles. dont give up and continue fighting💗

First of all Hi Familia! I am happy and scared at the same time while watching you guys watch this to be honest. This MV/Song is so sensitive and personal, and I cried the first time I watched this yesterday evening (the moment it was released) Twitter got so much emotional and a lot of ARMYs twitted that they wanna hug Suga or send virtual hugs to all ARMYs. I feel honored and thankful to Yoongi for sharing this vulnerable side of his. I was sad about his past, but I'm also proud of him for overcoming this pain. I also had a similar situation regarding the parents, although it's a different sickness but it's still the same pain... I'm just thankful that it's over now... So I cannot imagine Yoongi having this heartbreaking situation inflicted on both of his parents and himself. I cannot find the right words for this MV but I'm just thankful, grateful and honored. I was chatting my friend who isn't an ARMY and I shared to him this video, he felt so much pain and he was speechless. Even though he is not an ARMY or doesn't fully know BTS, he felt the struggle and the pain that Yoongi had. I was on a roller coaster ride yesterday evening, I was so happy to see Tae and JK at a Red Carpet Movie Premiere for Seojoon and IU. And then we have R-chwita, RM and Yoongi and then this...I had no one to talk to yesterday like personal talk but I was thankful I had my friend who wasn't even an ARMY comforted and emphatize with me. Agust D, Yoongi, SUGA describes his past in this MV and it as well identifies how "WE" as individuals have been going through... Hence he was saying to RM that their music speaks to ARMY and that is WHY we are here, and that is WHY he writes music.... The first time i heard Yoongi's album amygdala hit me directly in my heart this was the first set of lyrics that i read and it broke my heart, i cried so much. Now that we have visuals that goes along with it, it's even more heartbreaking. The scar was self-inflicted from the battles he had with himself due to all the traumatic events that took place in his life. Yoongi is a real fighter. The fact he went through all of this and decided to share everything with us shows that he trusts us so much, i can't imagine how hard it was for him to relive all these moments with writing this song. I am so proud of the man he has become. I am extremely proud of Yoongi. I am so grateful for him because he gives me strength everyday.

It's safe to say that to watch this MV it's better to be alone at home and watch coz no way to watch this without bawling our eyes out, it hits all our hearts coz all of us going through the pain in some or other way. Yoongi is our life guru sharing his most vulnerable moments in life. I really hope that he completes the certification he wanted to do to counsel people with psychology. I'm just super proud of yoongi to actually get past through such struggles in his past along side the struggles and hate that bts faced together as well. Yoongi is super brave to actually put this out there remembering those dark memories of his life. The shoulder accident during doing a pizza delivery, the lyric when he said " My accident I couldn't even tell someone" breaks my heart. his struggles with anxiety, depression, hate, physical and mental health. This music video is so dark but so real. we can see the true story of what suga has suffered through.

This song spoke to me in deeper level as someone who has been struggling and goes through many types of pain since childhood this songs make me tear up bcs how relatable this is even tho we go through different pain and struggle. In a recent interview, SUGA asked attention to the sequence of his MVs to understand the Agust D he portrays. That order he refers to is Daechwita - Haegeum - Amygdala. Even ending with Amygdala we can feel the pain, giving and suffering that he always highlighted as Agust D. He had also warned us that tracks 3 and 4 would be more difficult to hear, but we really weren't prepared for this MV, for see him interpret himself that way. Hearing and seeing breaks the heart of any ARMY. SUGA is a genius, just a genius.

replaying that painful memory again and again looking for ways you could've saved yourself, looking for a way you wouldn't have to go thru the trauma; it's amazing how correctly he portrayed it thru this MV. as someone who went thru something similar, i wasn't able to watch this MV for weeks, everything just reminded me of my own dark days. he's so brave, i wish i could hug him.

i interpret the lines about first, second, and third best choices in a more sarcastic and bitter was: as how it's usually told to us "you did the best you could, don't dwell on it", but those "best" choices, all the suffering, was it really "for the best". bc telling yourself "it's for the best" doesnt really work often times and the trauma doesnt get solved like that, it doesnt cure the pain, nor make it more bareble, it just feels like empty words sometimes. ofc it could be different, but that's at least how i related to those lyrics

When I first knew about BTS, I fell in love with Yoongi's rap skills. Back then I only knew/could access 1 song from them (one day) and I researched that song and found out Suga wrote it while in hospital and some how, I knew he was special. I then started learning more about him and i realized he was going through the same things as me, OCD, social anxiety and depression and yet he was being bold and writing about it and performing in front of many people. I knew he was for me. Listening to this song and seeing the MV, reminded me of exactly what I was going through at the time I met BTS. I got chills, I got to think about how far I've come and how grateful I am that I'm still alive because BTS/ Suga made it okay for me to acknowledge my illness. That ending in the MV, is exactly where I am now, trying to free myself from all those bad memories of the past but I can't reach myself. Smh

When you mentioned the almond he ate, I remember something. This song was made on 2020, when they were shooting for In The Soop. At that time, Suga was reading 'Almond' which is a story about a boy who couldn't feel anything like fear or sad. A doctor said that his amygdala was so small. Well, what I wanted to say is this song might be inspired from that novel, but the story on the lyrics, of course was Suga's story.

I cried because in many ways I have gone through the same things. My father dying at a young age with his first massive heart attack when I was15, my car accident. My moms stroke! My ex boyfriend dying at 50 from a heart attack! Even though at that time I have been married happily for 23 years, it was still a gut punch that brought back so many good and hurtful memories! My own MS diagnosis and all the things I went through before an am still going through! The constant fear of a relapse! This video depicts exactly how it feels! It is art and shows the inner working of our psyche!

My emotions ? : i cried...i rewatched and cried again...for him, myself and others who have gone thru or still struggling with life...this is so recent for me, just yesterday my mum asked me a profound question. A close relative visited our home and she is of the same age as myself, we studied in uni overseas...she currently has everything in life. Everything!!! Period. Mom asked aren't you jealous of her? I said, mum, I have done everything to my best possible in life...and if this is my current space, I am happy being here. God is the best planner. HE knows best. I trust HIM. My mom said, you are a good person...I resonate so much with what Suga said...I have come terms with myself, accept my present self and whatever haters may say...it doesn't trouble me anymore. i cried watching the mv, and the live, i cried 3 times watching the live. this song rlly means a lot to me bc i went thru my own fair share of trauma, but most of it has recovered now, but i still don't feel comfortable talking about some of it. i also just appreciate this song in general bc it makes me happy that yoongi decided to share his trauma with us, which is insanely hard to do, so i love him for that.

This song is really sad and raw, even armys couldn't watch it for the second time. It really is more painful if u know his past struggles (that he said publicly in some videos/articles) it hits diffirent y'know. I cried so hard watching this (that time there was no trigger warning) so I was not prepared, good thing they put it after several mins ago. Yoongi is the strongest person i've ever know. He has my full respect as an artist and as a person. I'm so honored that he trusted us to share his vulnerability which is he's alr been doing for a long time but this song/mv is on another level, it is too personal and not just some fictional story. This is HIS real history. So it won't be pleasing to me if anybody, even if it's armys, makes a reaction video that looks like that it's just for a clout/views or makes tiktok edits or something. I won't tolerate that kind of behavior, it's just an inconsiderate and dumb move.

When I watch the mv I had to stop or close my eyes every now and then cuz it was too much for me!! I really don't want to watch this but at the same time I wanted to watch the mv once again (ik I'm weird). And the scene where he was trying to get out of that dark room for a moment I felt that on personal level, my tears started flowing even without my permission. Listening and watching the AMYGDALA MV made my heart heavy in someway. It's comforting to know that I am not the only one having these thoughts. Even if u have get passed the trauma, it's not forgotten, it can never be completely erased from your memory and u still remember what it's like and your afraid the what ifs that pops in your mind every time these thoughts come up

In this MV I think we saw that there are three yoongis, one that was trapped in the room, one that was in real life living through events and the one that was just watching and eating almonds. Remember that Yoongi was working one this song in In the Soop s1? Well at that time he was reading the book almond, and in that book MC’s mom made him eat almonds because she believed it will help with amygdala(almond). That would explain why in the MV he was eating that. I think it’s important to acknowledge how trauma can cause dissociation, and even leads some to create stronger alter egos to cope with real life while the traumatized self tries to hang back and heal. Then there’s the other self that is so disconnected, all it can do is watch. It's just a theory but maybe that third Yoongi is the next one that maybe will appear in his future solo project like Agust D did idk
