Here is how he explained it in an interview:The word “Haegeum” came to me when I was young. I played rhythm games, I loved rhythm action games. When beating a certain stage, you’d unlock a forbidden song, then you could play a new rhythm. It was a “freedom from the forbidden.” Why don’t I try and break free from those things?

He (on the right, even without his glasses) is correct there’s another meaning to Haeugm. And his analysis of the video is pretty spot on. It so the two classes of society. He is the common folk and the folk fight the corrupt upper class/authority. Similar to the Daechwita video where he’s a commoner fighting the mad king. Haegum is a Korean instrument and also means Freeing what is forbidden/liberation.

As you guys saw theres two versions of himself in the mv, this song was from his album but he also has a mixtape back from 2020 and the song Daechwita has a similar aspect in the two person part but different concept.. you sould check it out u might be able to pin point the similarlys and the message he's trying to put out

@Alexarivera26, to add to your comment I wanted to explain also to these reactors that there is a trilogy of Agust D’s concept of how he becomes to be Agust D. It would have been better for them to understand if they reacted to “Daechwita “ MV first, “ Haegeum” MV and “Amygdala” MV in this order . I would recommend to watch the explanation channel of Kpop MVs , “Bookish Theories” , she really breaks it down very well not to say that you did not do an excellent job but for reactors who don’t usually do a lot of K-pop in-depth type research or interpretation and explanations I was just making a simple suggestion and hope you were not offended😊💜🙏🏼 BoraHae 💜

Thats tbe thing in August Dand BTS songs they make you think and always have a message. With love from Spain please react to the rap line of BTS Ugh and tbe 1-4 Cyphers but lyrics are mandatory because rap is rythm and poetry so bars are 70% of the reaction

I love to see people actually discuss the meaning of songs . This song is part of a trilogy and it's deep as hell. This is 2 - Have you done Daechwita (1) and Amygdala (3)? You would definitely need to watch an explanation video to decode Daechwita. 🖤💜
