btw, Tablo as the other possible featuring for this song makes so much sense!!! i recommend Tablo's Lesson 2 and Lesson 5 with subs, that song is so so so hard and political. I'm curious of what could've been Strange like with Tablo, but really, this song is a masterpiece. I always say this when the opportunity is there lol, but Epik High and Tablo are such a big influence in BTS specially rapline. I wish there was more reactions to them.

"Strange" is such a good vibe. The lyrics go deep. I am glad SUGA went with RM.

I thought it was funny that Yoongi was impressed by the round nail in a square hole lyric. It's a common English expression, so I assumed Namjoon borrowed it from English, and Yoongi had never heard it before. Don't worry Namjoon, we won't tell on you. It's hard to impress Yoongi! Lol

Kind of true I guess since capitalism only focuses on making as much profit as possible. Society is all about money, which is why money causes all evil. It's just built to make you believe money will bring you happiness and to some extent it really does just because society is built like that, so I don't know about whether RM is trying to say money doesn't make anyone happy. They are indeed questioning what really brings happiness, and I think *because* the system is made for you to believe you have to get money to survive and to be happy, most people won't ever be satisfied no matter how much money they already have, because they'll always crave more. In that way of thinking, that quote is true. Another thing that came to mind while writing this and listening to the song, I think this greed is just part of human nature, but isn't it also something that we people (society) created?

hey idk if there's an explanation video but imo the lyrics mean like this; yoongi's verse meant to make people thinking hard about our life and everything, with talking about the unfair world, about the system, and etc. you will become "the woke one in the society" bc you realized how everything he said is the reality. but then joon's verse came and then how you will confused with the song. but didn't that what he said? "the world played that changes like a flipped of a hand" and that's what happened to you, you were woke by yoongi's verse but then when you hear joon's verse, all he said about how the world and life is just like that, about how the system and how for God sake everything's under control, idk how to explain it to you bc my poor English, but do you get it? that's how "strange" lyrics are so genius, you woke once but then you just "ah that's right, the answer is no answer for all of that"

@@debyadrina5065 i ended up writing the whole lyrics on my book so i could comprehend them better( +look up to my mother tounge lyrics translate and i actually understand them better now). I think the feed part also alludes back to closed eyes and being blind. Specifically when people don't do their own research on matters and take whatever is on their feed as concrete and run with it. They don't think for themselves..they are blinded by what is pandered to them and so we all end up sharing the same ideologies. It gives me the same vibe as Jhene Aiko's line in 'triggered' where she states " you brought me to an obstructed view, when you knew the picture was bigger". The problem is we allowed them to take the lead in what we see or what we think

Yeah or what I was thinking is how a square have those sharp angles which could represent how people can sharpen or enlight their knowledge, mind, view of the world on their own but then come the round polished nail which represent the system and its engraved ideology of life that comes in and 'stuck' itself in your reasoning ability, weakening someone's enlightening to society ugly foundation.

No it's 'lust'. He said "everything in dust, do you see?" because everyone is blinded by what society pushes onto you, they can't think otherwise because this is just how society is built. You are supposed to blindly follow this system, and the few people who do have their eyes open are considered sick. Hence the line "In a world with its eyes closed, a person with theirs open, isn't it strange how now they are made blind". With "everything in dust/lust, do you see?" they are questioning how a person is able to have a correct view of the world if their mind is clouded by lust, hatred, and ignorance (your eyes are covered by dust, how can you have a clear view of the world).
