"Capital injects morphine called hope with dreams as collateral" is one of the hardest lines I've ever read

RM and Suga are always having conversations with each other in their songs, "Respect" is another one with just the two of them. His first mixtape was pretty decent but it was very raw, he was really angry and it had that rough underground feel, D2 is a bit more chill, diverse and modern, he even sang quite a bit and you can see the growth in his production style.

The brains of these two… they really see the world. RM said in an interview if he could have one last conversation at the last day of the world who would he pick and he said Suga because they still have so much to talk about. Also love the fact Suga had to talk RM into being on this song because he worried with the money they have they don’t have the right to talk about things like this anymore. I’m so glad Suga talked him into it. This song, Moonlight, and People are some of my favorites on the album.

Am I Wrong is such a good song. Highly recommend. I was so mad no one told me about it before I first heard it. It is one of BTS' most searing critiques/call-outs of the systems at play in Korea and I still cannot believe they performed it on live television. Absolute balls of steel move.

Yoongi is the type of person to call someone a piece of shit and Namjoon is the type of person to elaborate on why exactly someone is a piece of shit. Another great song by this duo is Respect.

My man already understands there is no "next BTS" 👏👏👏 But your talk on dreams and paths reminded of a quite from Namjoon: "if there's no way, let's draw the map --- the whole map --- again."

this song is amazing because both namjoon and yoongi talk about the same thing but from different perspectives.

Strange and People have incredible amount of maturity and wisdom in them. My favourite songs of the album 💜💜💜

The wordplay on polarization and flower is that polarization(the word) ends on a Hwa = flower. Note: Korean language developed from Chinese, then they adapted it and eventually made their own alphabet to go along with it. In Chinese, there are words that sound the same, but have different meanings solely on the characters used to write it. However, Korean made a simplified alphabet that is based on sounds and not characters, so as a consequence, there is no way to recognize when a certain sound has a certain meaning, but you can tell if you check the ethimology. In this case Hwa initially comes from the character for "process", while the second Hwa comes from a character for flower. They played with the two, as they often do. P.S. not sure how many Chinese characters Koreans learn in school, but there seems to be some considered general knowledge - I guess it's the same as learning old English, just includes another alphabet

Just wanna say that taste/choices are being controlled by Capital (uppercase C, as in a proper noun, as in Capitalism as an entity) because algorithms are the results of Capitalism. It isn't about individuals consciously wanting to chase money(capital) or own expensive designer items that may give some sort of social clout... It's about quiet control and mind control where Big Business pays a lot of money to Google (et al) to tap into what interests consumers have so that they can manipulate what they see (to the point now that it's impossible to search for things cold, without being tainted by algorithms)and have them thinking they want/need things that are "randomly" recommended to them peripherally. That's why he says "for god's sake, everything's under control", it's a double entendre. Capitalism rules even those who think they're avoiding it (just his proposed theory in the song). SUGA has sage wisdom as an old soul and RM is a philosophical poet. Their lyrics are almost always so thought provoking.

Namjoon and Yoongi dialogues are always fire. (reason for them both to be 2/3 of my bias/"favorites"), I need so much brain food. They have only another track together, called Respect :) it's a hiphop, funkier track.

I study sociology in college and it made me appreciate this song so much more. (The day I stop making typos is the day I’m no longer on this earth) 💀

As someone who was educated in and participated deeply in creating these waves/tastes/movements (and I don't only refer to media or entertainment, all parts of life), everyone's taste is indeed controlled and generated, like it or not. All the choices are still made up by "the generals", everything has been premeditated. These systems have been set up thousands of years ago, in recent centuries it only grew bigger and global. It's just a fact that we live in 🤷‍♀

This song is a commentary on the capitalist system. Its the system of economy that those at the top built to make money. Capitalism basically pretends to give the people at the bottom choices... but these choices are limiting, they only benefit those at the top... Not you, who have been hoping for big things. But you don't mind that. We fall into the illusion. Because we think we have choices. But what does the person truly want? It doesn't matter. Cus you will get money!!! Just go to school work hard maybe you will get a job in the system. Therefore you live within this capitalist system, working a job that was probably not your dream, chasing after money like everyone else thinking and believing that this is what we actually wanted. I love this song. Its thought provoking.

When I was on my own bts journey, I remember being really wowed by this song lyrically. Esp that line about capital injecting morphine called hope with dream as collateral Lol calling it a night, I’ll look forward to watching the next vids tomorrow 😆

Oh I forgot to mention last night that Am I wrong is a nice song. A cheeky bop that falls into one of my fave category amongst BTS catalogue: joyful defiant cheeky sociopolitical commentary (complete with choreo). I'd say joyful & defiant is very quintessential Bangtan.

Watching your videos now, I realise how similar the beginning of RM’s verse (“you think you got taste? Oh baby how do you know”) is to All Day, released almost 3 years later (“AI needs to get lost, fuck the algorithm”). Also the lines later on, “dreaming that has been forgotten while trying to survive”. Lots of parallels

Last time We know them talking about their spiritual beliefs Both RM and Suga were atheists.. So them using the word god might not be so religious as many religious people think.. There is so many ways to think god.. RM uses that word and christian imagery a lot. (Of course they are allowed to change their minds about their personal spirituality.) Most BTS members don't talk about their private beliefs. Personally I think RM uses the christian imagery as an equal myth as they use Greek god myths in Dionysus. Same way as I do say Jimin is an angel - dude can't sit on a chair to save his life, because of his wings, and have you ever seen such a graceful dancer fall on his face or that - luckily well padded - Jibooty so much ?.. It is because he was the last to join BTS, he is new to the chairs with wings, and faking walking on the actual ground.. BTS's vocal-line's voices are nothing less than angelic. And we know he flies, like many other of his brothers, JK and Hobi most known.. This "angel" is a mythical creature, not a religious creature to me. Like we know Suga is a (mythical) cat.. (Suga also flies but that is because "cat's are very spry" as Cameron Philip K said in his longer version of "if BTS Fire was dubbed") ;D
