Ah! mio cor is an aria from the opera Alcina by Handel. It is from the Baroque period of classical Western music. Performed by Mezzo-Soprano Cammie Jo Hatcher in preparation for graduate school auditions.
You really have a magical voice. I love this song, it's beautiful. I'd like to sing it, but I'm a tenor, and I haven't seen a performance with my tessitura. :'( Just with baritone and bass. So, I don't know if I, as a tenor, could sing it.
I'm really amazing at your voice. I am performing this song for a Solo and Ensemble competition, and this is really great to practice with. Thank you so much!
No. Typically this is sung by a soprano, usually a spinto or dramatic soprano. This key is actually lower than the original key Handel wrote the aria in. I was singing mezzo soprano repertoire at the time I recorded this. I recorded this almost 7 years ago and have since moved into repertoire for dramatic sopranos, including singing this in the original key instead of lower.
