0:44 I love this part of the jazz! (it has been 2 weeks since the incident, i can't take it anymore, i'm losing food supply and my area is filled with THEM, please help me lord)
In case anyone wants to know the music theory behind 0:46 This part of April in Paris uses the common jazz chord progression 2-5-1. We're in the key of D-Major and Ahmad plays the 2 chord (E-Minor 9). Before going to the 5 chord, he moves to the upper keys of the piano and very strangely plays a B and C at the same time and then an F#. B and C played at the same time is a minor 2nd interval, which is the most dissonant in music because the notes are too close together. Additionally going from a C to an F# is the tritone interval which also very dissonant because the notes are too far apart. I'm guessing Ahmad meant to play just B and then F#. That interval is a perfect fifth (so it's very stable) and those notes are both in the E-Minor 9 chord he just played. It's also worth noting B and C are right next to each other on the piano. tl;dr Ahmad Jamal likely played a wrong note and unintentionally created a lot of dissonance. Normally a mistake like this is glossed over by a listener, but Earl looped this part so it's unavoidable. Additionally, Earl pitched the loop down and added an audio effect to make it sound like it's being played on a worn-out record.
I kind of like how after that he seems to spend the next 20 seconds or so almost playing around and joking with the fact he accidentally created some dissonance.

This song sounds like bittersweet situation. You know it’s not going to end good for both of you, but, their ending it’s way harder than yours. Making you sweat with anxiety, as if millions of needles were stabbed into you. This song provides a feeling such as finding comfort in anxiety. Feeling safe and unsafe.
Late for everything, my face to the cement That's how I always seen it I spent days faded and anemic You could see it in my face, I ain't been eatin', I'm just wastin' away Looks like the way that River Phoenix went gon' end up my fate And when they drag me out the gutter, mail the ashes to my mother Twist the spliff if I don't finish my plate Slip a fist up for my niggas in chains, my mental was caged See I ain't been to prison but the feeling's the same Shared sentiment, winnin' if the pen hit the page As of late, I've been watchin' every bitch on MySpace Shit's just lookin' different with age Try to make some sense of all this shit in my brain One foot stuck in a tar pit of my ways It was like that the whole time, we'll be alright Stay up all night, but it's alright I done stayed up the whole night, but it's alright It's me and my nibbling conscience Nigga I'm fixin' to give up I've been alone for the longest It's trouble, the way that we're joggin' Nothin' gon' save us or stop us Me and my nibbling conscience Nigga I'm fixin' to give up I've been alone for the longest This spliff, I ain't splittin' no time soon My brain split in two, it's rainin' a bit I hope it's a monsoon, my face in the sink I'm seein' my mom soon, I'm faded, I stink Stay in it... I got my grandmama's hands, I start to cry when I see 'em Cause they remind me of seein' her These the times that I needed her most cause I feel defeated And I buy nothin' by myself, my second thoughts, my hec... My hands, I start to cry when I see 'em Cause they remind me of seein' her These the times that I needed her most cause I feel defeated And I buy nothin' but myself, my second thoughts My hectic process of thinkin' And all my doubts and I think I know Nak in there sleepin', he on the couch, that's my brother Give me a boost when my confidence need it So I love him, to tell the truth, I got a problem with eatin' I be druggin', to tell the truth, I'm not supposed to be off in here I'm supposed to be sleepin', but I be turnin' and tossin' To tell the truth, I miss my partna dem To tell the truth, you can't be loud when you're the wrongest, fam To tell the truth, I'm at a loss of friends Well time waits for no man and death waits with cold hands I'm the youngest old man that you know If ya soul intact, let me know
Guy gets knocked out on a parking. He then recovered and went on his life, building his family, living the best life possible with his wife and kids during decades... But one day the lamp looked distorded, so he spent hours looking at it. And then he woke up from the knock out, it lasted about an hour. This guy lived an entire life in an hour
0:46 tfw you just got home after a long day in school but then waking up in a room fully tied up , not alone , being watched by ''them'' , cant scream for help , cant move , cant do anything beside waiting for ''them" to decide your fate
This entire song sounded like a PBS Kids centered childhood, minus those very moments. They haunt me. It's as if all of my past mistakes are haunting me.
great song! super smooth and great to listen to. Hopefully no rappers sample this and create one of the saddest rap songs ever, that would totally ruin the vibe
Okay, picture this. The year is 2010. My brothers and I finally have some time off of school for winter break. We play this music in the background as we continue playing Super Smash Bros Brawl's Subspace Emissary. I'm playing as Lucario traversing a snow-covered mountain. I pass the controller to my brother, and suddenly, Bill Cosby throws a chair through the window and climbs into our house. As the music keeps playing, Bill enters our living room and, without speaking a word, climbs into our television and becomes a playable character. Eventually, the music stops, and we turn off the TV, not sure if Cosby was still inside. We put our winter clothes on and go outside to go sledding with friends. As I continued to sled, I couldn't help but hum this song as I reflected upon my Cosby experience. Music is powerful. This song has changed my life.

The human mind has evolved from simple primordial dna directions over the course of hundreds of millions of years. This process has allowed for us to experience the most dark of feelings and to dread the perpetual loneliness we as a species face, knowing that when we talk to others we only talk to ourselves. No other creature has a way of communication as advanced as ours, which is a blessing for those not advanced enough to feel us. I leave to you all, existential dread, questioning, and fear. Good day
