Ahmad gave up what he felt was the "perfect life" in the United Kingdom, where he studied and worked as an architect, to return to Nigeria and help rebuild his home city of Maiduguri.
Maiduguri has been devastated by the armed group Boko Haram, whose name translates to mean "Western education is forbidden". Drug addiction and unemployment are also rife across the city.
Undeterred, Ahmad is building boarding schools for orphans of the conflict. He is also determined to win over jobless young men by employing them on his construction sites. Together, they set out to build 24 schools and 14 mosques.

Kinyua B while I understand what you meant, but there’s no such thing. I have been to Ethiopia, Kenyan and Uganda in East Africa and most people look like me. But because in Ethiopia you mostly see Tigray and not Oromos places of power so you think most people look like Tigray in Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia but the truth is most people in those countries can pass for a Ghanaian, Nigerian or Senegalese.

Haha his home decor is screaming Nigerian 🤣 It's amazing work he's doing! Hope he will build a peaceful north Nigeria, brick by brick, school by school! Also hope there will be educators equivalent of Ahmed, who would go there and manage the school system, actually fill up the school with students and brining knowledge to the next generation.

I wish this was longer. I liked where he was talking to the girls........I bet one of those girls will become an engineer or architect. We need more people like this man but unfortunately, many are driven by monetary gain obtained at the detriment of others

Islam has brainwashed these poor africans. But northern nigerians don't value schools and education as they value mosques and religion. I hear they better take their kids to mosques than schools
