Majority of the loans being paid originated from Uhuru's first term and the most powerful dockets in that term were headed by Ruto. Ministries of water, public works, energy, agriculture and together with the respective parastatals were all lead but Ruto. Ruto got rich during Uhuru's first term. Ruto played Uhuru.

My view is that it's not that Kenyans don't want to rise up against the corrupt system, it's just that most of the country comprises people who are living from hand to mouth including the so called employed workers, in such a scenario the people would rather wake up and go to work to keep themselves alive, there is no room to for an uprising against the system. The philosophy in play here is to give the majority just enough to eat and they won't rebel against the system. The people who go out to picket and demonstrate are normally jobless Kenyans, those who are too desperate and probably want to loot and sadly don't mind dying in the process. It takes a certain level of wealth to demonstrate peacefully in masses and change the system or a certain level of general desperation to equally demonstrate violently in masses and change the system as well, but when you are stuck somewhere in the middle no change will come through mass action. But, I agree fully, the entire system is rotten, and we are struggling to build around it, so no matter the amount of good intentions that the president has unfortunately the system will fail him if its not changed.

Ruto just borrowed Kshs 1.56 trillion within the first year of his regime. That is far more than any other past President of Kenya. Was Uhuru involved in that? Uhuru put up infrastructure that has eased communication across the country.

Kenya is a rich country but all our foreign exchange is being used to pay for our huge imports( oil, mitumba, cars and machinery, food etc etc, debt and interest on loans). Our imports are 20 times bigger than our exports, and we also can not manage the forex earned from our natural resources.
