Even though I'm just an average homeowner, I would LOVE to go to one of these conventions, as well as the NAHB IBS. It seems the only way to be able to see the tech and trends.

Depends how early you register- but pretty cheap for a 3-day show.

thinking about the nature of ERV or HRV I was wondering your thoughts on increased ventilation. Seems to me more is better and perhaps give up a small percentage of efficiency of the house. Kind of like how a house with windows open ventilates more but you loose control of the filtration of the air in this scenario

Yes, Steve- everything in home performance is a give and take, just like everywhere else in life. Don’t let them sell you a silver bullet- doesn’t exist.
