Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson, I was really looking forward to seeing you in multiple seasons of Ahsoka. Phenomenal actor, and I am really looking forward to see you in season 1 of Ahsoka. The first really interesting Star Wars villain announced in years.
@@UVClipz in his interview at star wars celebration, he asked us "is he a good guy, is he a bad guy? And it seems he's something in between. I think he's from another time or galaxy. It seemed so when Ray talked about his character. Seemed extremely interesting
Ray Stevenson put everything into his roles. I’m sure this will be no different. I’m grateful this was one of his final projects. I know he’s gonna be an absolute badass in this. Rest in peace, sir.
I think his performance will be great. Loved him in Rome (one of the best series ever made) and black sails. Seemed like a lovely man too, gone way too soon, terribly tragic news.
I'd already been watching the trailer off and on, added the music to my playlist. I got back on just now, having just found out. First time I recall ever seeing Ray in anything was King Arthur. Fellow Star Wars alum Mads Mikkelsen was in it too, an Arthurian knight wielding a katana.
This is so unreal to me, as someone who grew up with the clone wars and rebels this trailer hits hard for me personally. Seeing these characters that I’ve grown up connecting to and watching their story evolve over the years just overwhelms me with joy. August can’t get here fast enough!
For a teaser trailer, I didn’t expect it to show off this much. I’m beyond excited to finally have the ghost crew back together. Saw Zeb in The Mandalorian, and here we get to see Sabine, Hera, Chopper, Thrawn, and I’m sure we will see Ezra.
@@Sif3r excellent defusing. Taking the time to stop this misunderstanding has renewed my faith in mankind during all this other kaos. It truly is the little things. Thank you. I hope something wonderful happens today for you.
@@cadensturm omg. I replied to the wrong person. Muhahaaa.. I learned something. May you BOTH have something wonderful happen. Inadvertently I was picking sides. Peace
Seeing live action characters in animation is one thing. But seeing originally animated characters in live action is so surreal! Can’t wait! I hope Zeb is in this show for an episode or 2.
Do you even know who real Ashoka was or are you just a fan of a fictional character. It's an Indian name mostly for males and they have completely changed the significance of.
"Star Wars is not just a movie, it's a whole world that amazes with its beauty, details, and richness of imagination. No matter which episode you watch, you deeply immerse yourself in this amazing world and experience every emotion together with the heroes. So I can't wait for the new series and find out what Star Wars story we will see next time!"
@@damyr55Rebels was never a great show. It was a highlight show. Most of it was pretty much Disney(85 percent filler nonsense), and the rest was about the actual plot.
In person and in flashback hopefully, him and Ahsoka started and ended TCW together, he deserves to be here. You can't do Ahsoka's story without him in my opinion
1:12 I felt that lightsaber strike triplefold. This show will be as melancholic as it will be exciting. May Ray rest peacefully in the Force and Asgard
Growing up watching The Clone Wars, I never could have imagined Ahsoka, one of my favourite characters in Star Wars, to have her own live action series! I am beyond excited for this show
Super saddened and shocked to hear the passing of Ray Stevenson. 'AHSOKA' will be the last performance of this incredibly talented human begin. 🕊 Rest In Peace Ray 🕊
Just hearing the words "heir to the empire" next to Thrawn's name made me so happy. After 32 years we're finally getting the story we always wanted. It will necessarily be different, but they've done a good job laying the groundwork for it in all the other series to be a solid retelling.
@@datuhuginn5079 I'm into the second book of the ascendancy trilogy. I haven't read the 90's books but I've got them on my shelf. With the new books being canon I wonder what they're going to pull from the old ones. Do you know if those stories would mesh well with the new ones?
If they do the Thrawn Campaign from the Legends novels right, I’ll be amazed. Thrawn has never really had a chance to showcase his full genius in canon yet.
Man, I'm a huge Timothy Zahn fan and the Thrawn trilogy really got me back into Star Wars back in the day. He's such a great character I really hope they do him justice. And dammit if I didn't get chills when she said "Heir to the Empire".
If you’ve seen the mandolorian, you know what you’ll see. It won’t be good. You can thank everyone who was begging for a return to practical effects for that.
@@Osindileyo Fr how do Mando, Kenobi, BoB and all the disney shows look way worse than Revenge of the Sith which came out in 2005? Like watching badly written fanfic
I just want to inform you guys that Ray Stevenson just passed away so I look forward to seeing this show because he was a phenomenal actor with such passion! 😢
Imagine if Kanan ever comes up, even if only as a flashback.. I would lose my mind. The ghost crew together again. And Thrawn.. A worthy heir to the empire. So hyped!
They have to! I mean ... they are all there! Sabine, Hera, Chopper, Zeb was in Mandalorian, Ezra is confirmed ... he's all that's missing. And we know how the Force works. 😉
I remember seeing Ahsoka for the first time in theaters watching the Star Wars the Clone Wars movie as a child. To grow up watching this character evolve and grow into a fan favourite getting her own live action series is surreal!
Yeah I don't have that feeling due to me giving up on star wars after the prequels and being a bit too old and to be interested in the clone wars( yes I heard it gets kind of amazing/is the best thing Disney star wars has to offer)
At the very end I'm 99% sure that's Hyung, the droid from the Padawan lightaber/training arc who helped them build their lightsabers, potentially meaning he was a part of the new generation of Jedi that Luke tried to train. I am beyond excited for this show and seeing the Ghost crew in live action made my day!!!
i just found out about ray stevenson. i'm saddened, because i was really intrigued by his character, and how he did the hallway scene. and i remember him from the punisher reboot, in 2008. this is hard to accept.
This trailer is everything I hoped it would be and more. Hearing Ahsoka refer to Thrawn as 'heir to the Empire' gave me chills, and seeing all these characters in live-action is just too awesome.
Ah yes the reference to his original appearance in the pre-Disney era. Thrawn would realistically be the only one able to military bring back the empire. If they had more of him instead of the incompetent fools they had they probably could have crushed the rebellion.
@BambiTrout looks like it's the direct tie into the end of Rebels. The exact same scene. Go and rewatch the ending and you'll see that Sabine has short hair (much like Ezra). Also, Ahsoka should be in a white cloak.
I'm so excited to see the Ghost crew again, I've missed them. I'm always happy for more Ahsoka. It's crazy how much the reaction to her has changed since 2008.
Dave Filoni wrote her character progression masterfully. Her arc is on Prince Zuko from ATLA level of good. I ABSOLUTELY couldn't stand Ahsoka at first. So much so that I spotted watching clone wars way back. Started rewatching once it got Disney plus, and more she's my favorite star wars character.
After recently finishing rebels completely and having the time of life, emotions everywhere, it makes me so happy to see the Ghost crew coming back. My heart
Thrawn in the flesh is going to be a tough one to master, but can’t wait to see it. Zahn has flushed him out so well in the books and the voice actor who does his dialog in the audio books is amazing.
@@DEATHBYFLYINGCDS I read both trilogies twice. The canon ones. And i recommend not to read them. Not because they are bad, no, THEY ARE AMAZING. But they will 100% ignore what happend in the books. The Gryysks will probably play no role and Thrawn will not be the good guy like he is in the books but be a bad guy. I really.hope im.wrong. But just in case dont get ur hopes up
It was a great trailer in general, but when they said the title to one of the best Star Wars novels ever it took things to a different level of awesome.
@Hadrian Rex Zahn is a different level of author. Whenever I think of the books, I only remember it as movies. I can see it all in front of me so vividly. Remember scenes that have never been filmatized but I see them as clear as day in my head. I hope they can deliver anything close to that
When rebels ended and Sabine and Ahsoka went on searching for Ezra. I said, "I would love to watch that show". Those two characters out adventuring. Looks like they are making it.
Indeed, Ever since I seen him in Tie Fighter as a kid, he's been a favorite. Rebels he was portrayed how I always imagined him. I hope they can keep that trend going.
@@Albertalorian "Rebels he was portrayed how I always imagined him" Ummmm...Thrawn in Rebels is a nerfed and far cry version of Thrawn in Zahn's books.
From my understanding, they were only allowed to use Zahn's characters if he had final say in how they are used. So he probably has a lot of input in the series.
Feels a lot more depressing watching this after learning of Ray Stevensons passing only a few hours ago today. May the poor chap rest in peace. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hearing Ahsoka utter the words He's the Heir to the Empire was insane. Those who have read those books long ago and seeing the story finally come to life is fantastic!!!!
Enh I wouldn't hold your breath. Rogue One is the closest I have ever gotten to a Dark Forces movie, but Cassian and Jyn ain't no Kyle and Jan. Might be good, but if you are expecting Heir to The Empire you're going to be disappointed.
Um you do realize that this won't even be a shadow of how amazing the Thrawn trilogy was, right? This is not adapting the Thrawn books, not even close.
