Stage speakers always exaggerate everything to get the audience pulse and interest. What JP said is, absolute false on something. He came to my city in 2014 , listed down the courses thast has future. He had given 1st place to Civil, 2nd to Mechanical, 3rd to CSE/IT. No Civil students got job till now from my batch. All the people came to IT. So dont take away bullshits. Study well. Follow some western channels to whats happening in your field. Any new tech , learn it. Search for good companies and prepare well , give interviews, get rejected and get selected and keep improving and learning. This applies to all the branches.

This is absolute Nonsense. Technology always evolves. AI / AGI will all need the basic concepts that you learn today. I never studied AI in my syllabus at my college when I passed out in 96, but I keep myself updated on the latest developments in AI and I am leading a team developing AI based solutions today. Technology is bound to evolve, but the basic foundational concepts you learn today will help you learn the developments as it evolves. So if you are a student pursuing a degree in AI, learn the fundamental concepts well..the underlying math/algorithms.I am sure you will learn newer developments as it evolves.

Agriculture can also be easily automated to very high extent, the technology is slowly gaining popularity in India too, if you check online you can find many example of it, one good example if a businessman who grows saffron in Bangalore, that too inside container, he controls climate, humidity, temperature every thing automatically. Same kind of business is running in many parts of Kerala too. So, sadly technology can also reduce the work of farmer. In the above example it is 90% technology and 10 % human intervention

What Jayaprakash is saying is not true. One can not go directly to AI or Adaptive AI etc One has to start from abcd only like all stages and AI , Data Analysis , Machine Learning etc are advanced subjects and one should learn at College level only, and finally continue learning is what is needed and still there are plenty of jobs based on Technology and Understanding and Problem Solving is the key for career success in Fortune 500 companies. So whatever you choose try to understand the basics and advanced concepts in that subject and solve a lot of problems from basic to complex and Nobel prize bringing problems.

This is the problem with Indian Education system. Let your child explore what he/she wants to do don't listen to someone and force your child into it. If your child has interest towards something even if its AI or any other field, let them explore and make it as a career. AI is growing and will continue to grow as well, Continual Learning is a big research field to make models robust against catastrophic forgetting which could soon be implemented for transformers based models like GPT. My concern is : In case of Engineering college, most of the teaching faculties does not have any industrial work experience. They just teach what they study in text books. Teacher just copy and reproduce whatever given in text books, so student will not have any understanding.

Exaggeration at peak! AI has lot of scope in all fields, there is always scope for integration in almost all domains . JP sir completely forgot about service based industries. What he said about expo may be correct and it involves R &D that’s why they won’t allow anyone inside their office premises.that doesn’t mean it will be feature.Lot of regulations and different laws to human privacy and security are in place.It’s all about application in different fields that will be helpful for humans. AI,analytics, data science,HPC all have great scope ! Not to forgot core computer science engineering as well that has basics for all these advanced fields!

Sir Always you talk about AI & Other engineering courses only& repeating the same in almost for the last 25 programs. You went to USA , don’t you see their involvement in Science & Research. Why don’t you talk about it. Also there are number of courses Agri, Fisheries, Dairy Technology, Poultry Technology,Food Technology, 5 years integrated research courses, Tremendously growing Bioinformatics,Hotel Management, Economics (Your son’s course),CA,CMA, CS , ACCA…. Please be complete in informing options for students. Also motivate students when studied all courses are good. Student makes the difference & Not the course
