I remember the final boss being called Aneki. And she's a crazy cyborg woman who's responsible for the disappearance of the main hero of the 1st Cho Aniki, Idaten. His wife and 2nd protagonist, Benten, sent the phallic muscle bros, Adon and Samson to look for him. The 2 used to be power-ups in the 1st game
Believe it or not. This game have a degree of lore. Its about the same Degree of depth as Touhou, but I will say I would have loved for it to be as expanded as touhou. Its a blast to see.
I wish cho aniki lore was more appreciated tho, the strangeness of the entire series is fascinating, better than loli girls filling up the screen with bullets with good music
@@powerstones7722 uuuuhhh...I don't exactly know the lore but I know in the first game it has something to do with an intergalactic muscleman contest being interrupted by bo ten bill, and you ( idaten or beaten , and the 2 option muscle dudes) " bulk up " by collecting protein...this games power up system, to defeat bill, that's sorta the plot for the first game and from there...yeah, of the rails with the masculinity, but it's awesome
@@kiwibro6454 yeah it's effectively Mashle type of power. Like bodybuilding is just extremely important in that universe for some reason, but the main guy and the villain have wives. Our dudes here just seem to be very enthusiastic bodybuilders too. Who knows what's the origin of the whole thing.

Year old comment replying to, but was because this particular game you're playing as the two muscle bros, Samson and Adon. Normally, they would be muscle men POWER UPS. Other Cho Aniki games, you do play either as the girl (Benten) or her husband Idaten.
This is amazing, never heard of this game before. I think the weirdness is accentuated by the fact that the graphics are like low-end 16 bit quality, and the sound effects match, but the music is CD quality (and fucking really good).
Weirdos with a weird sense of humour (like me!) Think of this game as the 90s gaming equivalent of a _Shitpost_ -- It's just one huge gay joke. Cho Aniki means "Super Big Brother" but should really be translated as "Super Daddy" to account for cultural differences. No points for figuring out that 'daddy' in this context doesn't mean Father.
I just wanna know one thing. Are Japanese people aware that games like these are weird, or do they consider them normal? Because if games like theses are common in Japan then they must seem normal to them. Oh, I just read the description so maybe they are aware. :)

This game has so unique controls for a shmup, the fighting style inputs are nice but..sometimes could get in the way, and i was expecting something so crazy for the final boss..but its the most normal thing in the game, a woman
Empress BodyConscious, widow of the now deceased Emperor BodyBuilder, wants to rebuild the Builder Empire after it's defeat in the first Cho Aniki game. She kidnaps Idaten (the male playable character from the series) and decides to fulfill her husband's dying wish of conquest and domination. The two brothers, with Benten's help, then go on a quest to stop BodyConscious and save Idaten. No, I did not make up the name of the main antagonist. That's actually how she's called.
I'm sorry, but there needs to be a hack where the buff guy is replaced with Mettaton Ex. What other character would fit a game where you attack by posing?
Now normally I would be uncomfortable playing a game where you're a bald naked guy wearing nothing but underwear, but if you get to see a 100 ft cyber stripper giantess at the end...i might have to endure.
