Back with regular Samsung content in the next one. I was really happy to get my hands on this as I needed a security camera. I've been using this for about 2 weeks now, it's been solid. Good video. If power/WiFi go out will the spotlight and siren functions still work and be set off of someone gets too close? Looking for a flood/alarm that will still go off even if disconnected from WiFi or during a power outage.
Thanks for stopping by. That's a really great question. I honestly don't know, but there's a good chance they might, since it's AI features, battery, siren, and all that stuff are self contained in the camera. There's only one problem, that's going to be really hard for me to test for you. This is a very "tech heavy" family, and if the wifi goes down for more than 5 seconds, it's like a National Emergency up in this house! It would have to be a time when nobody's around, and I'm off work and youtube. I'm really sorry, hopefully we see some reddit posts about it soon.
@RADERTECH thanks for the reply and info. Will a person inside the det3xtion zone set off the alarm or motion light? Can the motion light and alarm only be activated through the app?
That's a real tough call! I've been away for a few weeks for 2 cataract eye surgeries, and had no idea Samsung was about to drop the 4's. If the the book 4's ended getting the non-reflective screens I was hearing about, I'd go with the 4. The 3 is cool, I really do like it, but the reflections can be a real bummer. If you don't care about refelections, I'd go with whichever you can score the best deal on.
