Thank you texlea for bringing up the safety issues when handling liquid nitrogen. Proper handing includes safety goggles, cotton glove, and tweezers. There is a window when thawing the semen. According to the some articles, it is at least 30 seconds, and no more than 15 minutes on a .5mL straw of semen. I still prefer between 30-60 seconds in the warm water bath. .25mL straws require less time as you pointed out.

Hi!Greetings from Romania and very good job!!!Can you tell me please what liquid nitrogen conteriner is that and specifications ?I ts seems to me it s a very large tank and it has a very small neck opening ,what evaporation rate does it have >I m looking to buy a semen tank so any opinion is very welcome>Thank you in advance for any reply!!!

No safety gear using liquid nitrogen & too long to thaw the straw. 1/4 mL straw 15 seconds, 1/2 mL straw thaw for 30 seconds
