Lots of anime and manga are made by using 3d...you just have to know what you're doing and the limitations of each software.

For a manga industry standpoint. Its literally does nothing to them but for people who make a webcomic like tower of god, solo leveling, the god of highschool etc, this actually will help a lot.

I don't understand, why is everyone so obsessed with colored pages? The artistry of black and white is very significant. It's like the revolution of 3d modeling, frankly that doesn't get rid of the principles found in 2d drawing. And in fact, the reason you learn to draw is not to be able to just for execution, but to be able to judge the work and its quality. That's why, and to me color in manga is not better than manga that is in black and white. One can argue that people that use 3d models already have things that function like ai, in that when an object is placed it stimulates the elements of that setting based on computer stimulations without having someone manually adjusting it. But we already know that if that is done by someone who has no level of artistry and understanding of what they do, they frankly are going to make something crappy lol. That's the problem, is that revolutions in ai still mean that you need to be educated in certain things to be able to judge it properly, or understand the principles behind it. Like how you still need to understand how to do basic arithmetic despite having calculators. You understand the process. People for example, that try to use 3d modeling without any understanding of 2d principles will always make shitty work. Human work is good if it's done by someone who understand what they're doing, something created by a human is not innately good by nature.

Sure it won't "go away" per sé, but ugly cgi is increasingly used for more and more anime, including the really succesful ones, because of how little money studios actually make. Illegal streaming services and such. If some technique can vastly decrease the amount of time required to animate, while still keeping a genuine standard of quality, then yes, it might ensure detailed hand-drawn animation might not just perish in exchange for fake-looking CGI that doesn't blend well with the environment. Not saying that this is a neccesary outcome, but it's certainly possible.

@@JupiterVortex Theres 3d models. You dont even need to draw them and colors could be transferred from blender itself. But you would need to have everything modeled(partly procedural since anime characters are very similar. That to me is easier than drawing but human element always applies. You could probably use motion capture after but even thatd need cleanup(hopefully that till be automated if is not already). Then just render the foreground in a pass and cartoonize the background. Forground would be ai inked and then colored. Human element always applies but hopefully most of the work can be eliminated. Still a lot of work but significantly less time for everything. People would probably want to hire inkers anyway to imitate their style.

@@JupiterVortex the most simple thing is for blender to procedural draw the white and black lines for people. But just as you said, it needs people.

I'm trying to click and drag and I don't know if it either doesn't work at all or works but takes a long time to load. Please answer asap cuz I need to learn how to use this
