Well Ailee would have to do or participate in something the *world* would know about. Ailee hasn't reached that, but she does want to continue with music in the states after her English Christmas song, Sweater of which she made participating with Celine Dion's former manager.
She'll literally be singing with people and everyone else will stop but she'll still carry on the note and everyone else is just like: "Well shoot no one told me this was gonna happen... " 😂 Seriously such a queen tho
I remember almost all Ailee's facial expressions from these performances ^^ She has incredible charisma. All her performances are so memorable and fascinating!
MCthulhu M yeah she had to do it after judges l. superstar K told her she had no emotions and she almost lost because of it lol she worked hard her facial expressions to not be boring
She was never a contestant of Superstar K, she was one of the judges :) And I think her facial expressions come naturally when she sings, it's not something intentional for her ^^
If you have it flaunt it, why not? if I could sing like her I would be singing all over at work, contests, even on the train station to get some extra cash, just with 2% of what she has I would be satisfied.
As long as she doesn't intentionally overshadow whoever should be in the spotlight for a particular section in the song, or overdo the vocal runs, I think it's fine. She just has to keep it balanced when she's singing a duet.

This is thing. I don't think Ailee should sing duets with people on shows because she put them in the shadow. I get that she's awesome, I love her. But as a music lover, it ruins the purpose of duets. Edit: for those negative replies. Here’s a clarification. I’ve listen to Ailee since she debut, so yes I’ve heard plenty of her duets to compare. Her vocal is very energetic and strong which gives her that respected stage presence. Hence, the difference is very apparent when she sings together with opposite vocals. This who comment is NOT a criticism of her. I love her as a singer and her personality. Even with other strong vocals she definitely still stand out. So please read again if you must to understand.

Different singers definitely do each have their own distinctive color (I actually prefer Taeyeon's myself) but Ailee can do dazzling things that no one else in Kpop (and few people in the world) can do. Not just high notes, but duration, power, crazy control when changing notes, etc.
I agree with u. Taeyeon's voice is beautiful but compared to ailee, her singing talent is definitely rare.. Especially when she sing acapella.. you will go WOW the entire singing.

@@rainautumn9114 yeah, Christina has her own style, and i like a lot of her songs, but she did waaaaaaaaay too many vocal runs in her tribute. Ailee showed off her voice but kept her cover classier in my opinion. She doesn't need a million runs to make a beautiful song (even if she could do them).

Honestly, I am new to Kpop and stuff. Like I have been following a few idol groups for a few years but that’s it. AND OMG Ailee just hits different! I can’t believe she is not as famous as other idols. The world is sleeping on her, she is like the Mariah Carey of kpop

I give Ailee props because most of kpop is about singing simple songs that don't challenge vocals. Sheis one of maybe 3 that changed the scene. Now if more idols would sing tough vocal songs I would consider them talented rather than just good. Other than Charice and Lee Michelle, I don't find power vocals in kpop. I forgot about SoHyang. She is a power vocalist. I do find K artist tend to shout songs though and equate that as power vocals. Whitney didn't shout her songs.

her way of flaunting reminds me of christina aguilera but ailee's still ailee, and unlike christina's "roughness", her voice has this smooth, resonant quality that's pleasing to the ears
Charisma! There are a lot of amazing korean singers, but Ailee does a great job in standing out with that brilliant voice and that diva-charisma. You can't imitate that!
