It's been quite some time since our last post but life has been a bit hectic. Here's our first roast video. This was actually completed quite a while ago. We've had many roasts since then and our technique has improved. The concepts are still the same as mentioned in this video. Enjoy!

Thanks for the video. I just started using a bullet and stumbled through the seasoning and first 2 roasts. This video brings it all together and I will be more confident about my next roast!😊

Good video. I recently bought a nucleus link as a first roaster and am already looking at what’s next. How is that little exhaust fan you bought? Does it work pretty good at taking the smoke out? Given the orientation of your Bullet is it hard for you to empty the chaff?

Congratulations on your first roast. Hope this will be my next roaster in a few months.

Great video, I currently use the sr800 because I’m newer to roasting, definitely will be buying this in the near future, Greta descriptive video and looks like a great piece of equipment!

When would you decide to increase the speed of the fan,lower the power or increase the drumspeed when you want to slow down the temperature for a bit? It seems you have multiple ways to increase or decrease the temp. But what are the pros and cons of each option? Nice video by the way!!

Well done, can’t wait for mine to arrive and give this a try, so what improvements in your technique did you find then?

So far I've made adjustments to the steady decrease in the RoR and adjustments in the time since first crack. I've found that reducing the RoR steadily after first crack and letting it get to the roast temperature you're looking for is easier to control that way. Gives you a great bean.
@giovannyt.6778

Great video. Tip - if you want a greater RoR, reduce the fan speed. Also, if you reduce the speed of the drum, you will see a significant increase in the RoR as the beans make more surface contact with the hot drum.
@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256
@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 2 года назад
Thank you Giovanny! I've never tried the reduction in drum speed to increase RoR. I'll try that on a future roast.

Hi, what is RoR? Thanks in advance
@giovannyt.6778
@giovannyt.6778 2 года назад
@@CoreanShorts Hi, RoR refers to the rate of rise and it's the rate at which the temperature is rising usually in 30 second increments.
@giovannyt.6778
@giovannyt.6778 2 года назад
@@CoreanShorts when you slow down the drum speed, the beans have longer surface contact with the drum increasing the heat transfer more rapidly.

Great video, information I needed. I have a question about the exhaust does it need to vented? I don't see any vent kits or people taking about the exhaust. I am currently using a SR800 it makes some exhaust and smells but Aillio is considerably larger.
@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256
@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 2 года назад
Hi Franz! You absolutely do need an exhaust for this. We currently use a AC Infinity Cloudline S6 that we bought on Amazon. Super easy set-up

amazing video and roaster. I would love to own one but it is very expensive for my coffee consumption of about 2.5lbs/month in house.

I can understand that. We had the same issue so we started offering beans for sale. Now we're probably outgrowing our Aillio and need to upgrade.

Did you ever tried it with 1kg of Green Coffee? I wonder how many smoke comes out, because unfortunately I could not set such a quiet good room as you did :-)
@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256
@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 10 месяцев назад
Yes I have and there was no problem with the 1kg roast. You'll just need to be more careful with the starting temperature and making adjustments throughout so that it doesn't roast too quickly or burn the beans.

Is there an advantage to this particular software compared to Artisan?

Thank you! I wish I had a good answer for you but I've never used Artisan. It is nice to have your roast time connected to your inventory in roast world so all of your batches get subtracted from your inventory automatically. It does have flaws they're trying to correct in the inventory tracking.
