@@bpop2148 i think the one with sraams was more doable against since you could use your rockets as flares and missile it if you had aim9b's since it had no flares. But the AV8A could definitely score kills from way further away while being inmune to missiles. I think it's more carcinogenic.
I gotta say, playing any 11.3 vehicle at the moment, you are CONSTANTLY uptiered into 12.0 and 12.3 and I face these all the time together with F-14s and its becoming really rough. You dont have the countermeasures to carry mixed, so many games I die to simply running out of chaff/flares. The warthunder matchmaker really needs to change. Yeah, the battles getting smaller would solve many of these issues, but I still think some things need to be enforced, like the ratio of uptiers/downtiers being more consistent across the board or that it still can happen that enemy can have 4 top tiers and you only have 1 from that specific battle.
@DEFYN i dont blame you. It is the worst stock grind i have ever experienced and thats me grinding in sim. Its not even the fox 3's that give trouble. Its the fact that the airframe is so bad that when you do get to a merge, if your missile has been flared. You are dead. Your decision to not fly it is one in favour of your mental health and sanity.
I saw like 2 frames of fireball from your perspective exactly before jumping into the next clip. Now I know you don't die, but you should be very careful about that so other people don't get the wrong idea.
Appalling stock grind that the average user of it probably doesn't have spare GE just to throw at the problem Plus you are gonna get smacked by everything else in the merge Not to mention no HMD. In my opinion, this thing is as balanced as it would get at 12.3, because at 12.7, that would be pretty overtiered
@@grahh7234 i really appreciated when people dogfought me because the av8b always came on top, and since most people launch and forget about their amraams they're easier to deal with than radar guided missiles but having two aim9l's til you literally get all the performance mods is quite mind numbing.
@@kingghidorah8106 yeah people seriously underestimate how potent the harrier actually is in a dogfight, i managed to beat an f15c in a dogfight in air simulator, we were both down to guns too
The viffing actually helps especially with turning inside of someone whos choosing to fight you in a close knife fight, you can turn inside everyones circle and have the acceleration to keep up with them. In regards to the gun its the same gun the LM used later for the 35 so ofc its good

I've only been riding the BR12.0 for the past week, but I haven't had a single 13.0 top match. 12.3 was 70% and 12.0 was 30%. Among them, I was shot down from 12.3 HARRIER..
This plane has the worst stock grind in game. Its literally impossible. Not only is it a dogshit airframe but you also have to unlock an absurd amount of research mods before u can even get good missiles. You basically have to spade the whole plane before u can get aim9m and aim120. This means for the majority of the stock grind u will have 2 aim9l and bombs and get absolutely shat on every game before u can get any points. I gave up on it. The pain isnt worth it.

You talk a lot about not being able to multipath anymore. Last time I wasn't seeing enemies multipathing and I only really saw myself multipathing but now I constantly see everyone doing it. It's not gone. It's just more tedious.
Now when you play the M4K it feel like you are with a stick in WW2. Even with the 530D i barely get 1 kill. So I hope they seperate fox3 and non Fox3 plane soon.
4th time asking a question from a returning player : Defyn, in your opinion, what is the bvest metric to see if you are doign well in a plane : win ratio, k/d ratio; kills per game ??? In the old days, with nation-locked maps and Flavor of the Month, we tended to dismiss win ratio, but now is it a better indicator of skill or not ?
Its a combination of everything: More kills doesnt mean you play better it can mean you play too agressive for kills and die/lose games Kd can mean you pick off easy targets and take 0 risk making you lose games Or that you just take 0 risk and get 1 kill every other game just to make sure you dont die Winrate can say a lot but with the 16v16 meta a big part of this is down to your team. All of these factors also dont count during what meta you played them. 1 stat being high and the other 2 being bad mostly means you are trying to inflate it. Theres plenty people with 10+KDs that arent good at the game The easiest way i guess is kills per battle + how many deaths you have in relation to losses If you have 50 losses but 200 deaths you die too much If you have 50 losses and 25 deaths you dont take enough risk At the end of the day dont look at the stats in itself. The number doesnt matter just try to make it go up without playing like a rat.
I know it’s not the same plane but does anyone notice the Harrier GR7 has 9Ms now at 11.7? I think honestly that’s pretty goated, I know with the F14A most of the time I get down tiers than uptiers which slapping F4s with a 9M is hilarious
I think I wouldn't prefer this meta even if it was 6v6 or 8v8. Simply because to me, the low-medium altitude high adrenaline head-on joust gameplay was more fun than locking someone up and letting my missile do its thing. I am getting 3-5 kills every match but I'm not having fun.
yeah and they gonna propably nerf this harrier and move it to 12.7 or 13.0 where its gonna be just weak, they should move f-15c su-27sm etc to 13.3 or even 13.7 why i should play f-16c when i can play with f-15c?
I remember back in 2021 I could just climb to space in my harrier then harass migs. It seems I can now climb to space and harass migs in a harrier once more
Flying low to the ground (In WT this is 60m) causes a radar shadow of your aircraft to appear underneath your actual altitude. This can cause radars to lead their missiles into the ground. It's reliable a if somewhat dangerous way to defeat radar missiles
I went back to rearm and I try taking off as soon as I got to past the runs way I got hit by at least 8 aim120 with no chance to evade , he was 15 km out
Thank God I'm too poor (and couldn't spend enough time to grind through 4 different TTs simultaneously) to play anything above 7.7 lol. At least there's no AMRAAM down here.... right?
