Funny, people from eastern europe seem to miss the days when they had free housing, healthcare, education and a guaranteed job. Not so much in places like Poland or Czechia, but most Americans are widely misled on the eastern euro perspective.

After that you could expect to get job, but you will lost it for any antiparty activity. Peasants didn't get money for their work until 1970s, and then they got very small salary. So communism make nothing better in people's life, but make many things much worse. That's all about USSR, situation in other Warsaw Pact countries seems to be similar. There were many people in USSR who wanted to live in USA, but there weren't Americans who wanted to live in Soviet Union.

What I love about this song is, it never argues for capitalism. Its not trying to say that capitalism is good its just trying to respond to those who claim communism is.
