MISIA provided soup kitchen support in the areas affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.
MISIA came to Hokuriku to encourage many people, but she wanted to "help the victims even more," so she asked local officials about the support needed and decided to support a soup kitchen in the Noto Peninsula, the area hardest hit by the earthquake, on the day after her show.
With the cooperation of "RACCOS BURGER," who had been providing many soup-run support in the affected areas, and the local "Kanazawa Rainbow Pride" team, we prepared a total of 500 servings of curry for lunch and dinner at two schools used as evacuation centers in Suzu City and Noto Town.
Water is still cut off at some evacuation centers, forcing evacuees to live in inconvenient conditions. There is also a shortage of kerosene for warmth, underwear, and other daily necessities.
On the way to the evacuation centers, many houses have collapsed and roads are cracked everywhere, and one cannot help but feel that it will take a considerable amount of time to recover.
Still, we were able to learn of the warmth of the recovery efforts and the support of people, such as the many relief supplies being delivered one after another to the affected areas and the detailed concern of the people running the evacuation centers.
The Noto region is expected to experience severe cold weather again from tomorrow, and I am sure that the evacuees are feeling a considerable burden.
MISIA is also concerned about the health of the evacuees and says, "I want to learn what is needed in the affected areas and continue to be involved.
Although what we can do now is still limited, we would like to stay close to the long road to recovery and continue to provide the necessary support.
We hope that this report will encourage you to think a little about "your own way of support" in your own places.
