Ains Crashes the Party | Overlord IV 

"Coincidence is such a scarry thing", the way he said that unintentionally makes him sound sarcastic for better or for worse.

I love how people start getting quiet once they hear that it's Ainz that will be fighting. As if they all just go "Wait, you mean the guy that just massacred one of the biggest armies of history, just with one spell?"

Gotta love this series. Ainz is basically just having a fun little side adventure. Snuck into another country, heard there was an arena, thought it might be cool. Felt kinda bad for sneaking in without going through proper channels, but he’s there now so whatever. Meanwhile everyone around him just assumes the most diabolical reason for each of his actions, making him look like a mastermind. He’s genuinely just trying to say hello. He looks up to the emperor, and sees him as an example of what a ruler should look like. He just wants to be friends.

Man, when I read this scene in the book it was crazy. Ainz was actually happy to see the Emperor.

Ainz: “Ima stop by the Emperor to say hi.” Emperor: “He out smarted me!”

Man Ainz’s Dark Wisdom skill really giving him the best darkest possible outcomes and he doesn’t even realize it.

My favorite part of this entire scene is that Ainz legitimately came just to say hello and was just being polite towards Jircniv and his guests, yet everything he said could be interpreted with such easy double meanings, it made him sound EXTRAORDINARILY threatening. He just comes off as a smug and devious evil overlord without even intending it.

I love how this scene is told through Jircniv's perspective. Ainz in all honestly didn't expect to meet him here and is just saying hi. He honestly believes those guys are Jircniv's friends and that this was a casual hang out.

This clip is missing the best line when Ainz points at the 2 Slane Theocracy agents and asks Jircniv :"Friends of yours?" Jircniv, thinking Ainz is testing his loyalty, can't come up with a good answer, meanwhile his silence sends a clear message to ST that, if push comes to shove, Jircniv won't stand with them. Thereby this single line from Ainz completely kills any potential for an alliance between Empire of Baharush and Slane Theocracy, and checkmates Jircniv into giving up on any plans to oppose Ainz.

Ainz was in the coliseum for the sole purpose of testing his strength without using magic. It was a complete coincidence that he managed to stumble upon the Slane theocracy's representatives meeting with Jircniv. He literally just wanted to say hi cause he thought that it would further his bond with the emperor. This brings up an interesting question about Ainz's nature as an intelligent being. Did his intelligence stat carry over from the game, hypothetically making him the smartest character in the world, or is he just extremely lucky? And if it did carry over, does his intelligence act as a subconscious mechanism to guide him towards his goals? There have been multiple instances of Ainz doing something completely unintentionally which help him with the development of the Sorcerer kingdom, such as creating Momon the adventurer, or saving Carne village.

I love how Lord Ainz took his time saying this man's whole name. Probably out of respect from his perspective, but to everyone else it's like a parent calling for their kid that's in trouble

Ainz legitimately just wanted to greet the Emperor and meet his friends. It's not his fault he is a supremely scary skeleton with a bad habit of wording everything in the most sinister way possible.

Ainz wanted to do Gladiator but ended up outsmarting people

This is by far the most epic image/entrance of Ainz yet. His calm tone is what really make it sound like he planned the whole thing. ***Spoiler!!!** He didn't!

Ainz's wisdom is very frightening, the emperor underestimated him too much, his plans went down the drain.

You know you’re in trouble when someone says your full name like your mom does after you dinged the car.

Love how Ainz is just some regular office worker out sightseeing, saw an arena and wanted to have some fun. Everyone else thinking he's playing some 5D chess with time travel. Man's just exploring and accidentally becoming the most feared thing in the world.

My man Ainz is playing stardew valley and coincidentally doing the exact button inputs to a world record mario 64 speedrun

My reaction to this was probably priceless. I open mouthed gasped laughed and put my hand over my mouth. I expected it to be momon or someone else from nazarick but didn't think he'd show up as himself.

It's truly amazing, but Ainz means every word he says literally. Poor guy can't help his voice.

Ainz is so polite! He came over to talk to his friend and his friends. He even remembered how to be polite.

I love this scene. Knowing he's being completely honest about it being a coincidence is the cherry on top!

I love this part in the LN. He's having a total Thor from Ragnarok moment internally, "Hey I know that guy! What's he doing here? I'll go say hi, he'll be so excited!". But it somehow comes off all sinister and evil genius like everything he does.

Aniz may well have lost his empathy for lower life forms with the coming of his powers, but by no means his style and sense of spectacular entrances

The anime director delivered that scene with perfection. The timeline of the events was also delivered in a good way.

Is it weird that I always like seeing Ains wearing stuff outside of his usual attire? Cause that Overlord can make anything badass.

God I love how much raw luck plays into the stuff that happens around ainz. It constantly feeds back into the belief that he truly is all knowing and all powerful. Meanwhile his nonexistent stomach is constantly in knots because he has no clue whats going on or what the right thing to do in each scenario is.

That guy is gonna go bald at this rate lol

The best part of this entire show is Ainz doesn't have a damn clue and everyone thinks he's unreachable genius always 500 moves and six games ahead of you.

For anyone wanting to argue or speculate, id suggest watching some aninews he does amazing cut content and deep dives to give you perspective and such. But yes. Ainz is just very lucky. Its the underlining joke of the anime. He coincidentally does things that make him look like the smartest being alive or becauseof their pure loyalty the guardian's fill in the gaps to make him seem so..

1:04 I legit LOL'd exactly at this moment during the episode. They truly did this whole sequence justice and turned it into the *"meme'in' on Jircniv"* it was meant to be.

One of the best scenes in the LN and they did it perfect.

The most hilarious thing is that Ains actually thinks he has a good friendship with Jircniv.

Biggest joke is Ainz is oblivious and came up to greet Jircniv out of actual respect. Ainz thinking of him as a "friend" and a person he aspires to be more like. It is why he watches Jircniv daily to learn/understand how to be a proper ruler. Which is also why Jircniv feels like he is constantly being watched and has started to lose hair through stress/paranoia. The extra details missed from the Light Novel is somewhat missed, but the general vibe throughout this and the next episode did well enough. Ainz actually being confused after the fight with Jircniv asking to become a Vasal State and leaving it up to Albedo/Demiurge. Was even more hilarious given him not taking it immediately completely destroyed Jircniv resolve to ever go against Ainz. It also lead to a better deal for Nazarick and worse one for Jircniv. One positive though is it did in longterm lessen Jircniv burden of multiple State affairs. He would use the free time with one of his new friends Pe Riyuro the Quagoa Lord. The two unlikely kindred friends pretty much comforting each other over both civilizations being upturned by Nazarick. A scene sadly left out of Season 4 that was pretty funny and oddly endearing for the two.

Can we take a moment to appreciate just how absolutely exhausted Jircniv looks? Bear in mind that Ainz has actually been spying on him for a while here. Not for any malicious purposes, but because he wanted to see how a ruler conducts himself. Unfortunately Jircniv did feel he was being watched and it kept him awake at night and Ainz' spying slowly eroded his sanity.

Ainz : *on vacation* Emperor : "What kind of 5d chest is he playing?"

'Oh, he's here too, I'll go over causally and say hi.' *Floats ominously* "Greetings. What a... coincidence to encounter you here."

Madhouse did this scene justice in the anime(though they still botched all of Ainz negotiation parts), the sheer panic of Jircniv and Slane Theocracys reaction was spot on. With Ainz coming in to hammer the nail with his dramatic entrance

I just love how Ainz is just does things randomly and accidentally ruins plans and everyone just thinks he's the smartest creature in the whole world. While he's just a lonely and scared man looking for his old friends.

The fun thing about Jircniv is probably just as capable a strategist and schemer as Ains is, but he is unable to leverage it as well because he simply lacks the magic and power Ains has
