Thanks Rich, Cant get it to work for me but at least i know Im not alone. This has been a problem for me out of the box. I thought I had spent too much on a gun, tuns out for once I'm right. I'll add Arms Galahad to the worlds list of over priced crap. Cheers.
Thank you for your comment George. I'm assuming you have the indexing post shown in my video. If you contact Air Arms with the serial number of your rifle in sure they will be able to assist you. The new design index post is much stronger and does not succumb to the same failure as the original.
Cheers Rich, I have the part ordered and should be in when i get home, my gripe is the fact that AA could'nt be bothered to design a proper reliable working part, lost faith in the gun and wondering what the next failure will be. Not working out of the box is just not on. Cheers
@@paddymularkey My Galahad developed the same problem as yours, more or less straight out of the box..Had it a week, shot around 50 pellets and it started to not index..Finally bought the new MK 2 post....SORTED...
That could be that the magazine retaining clip is nit holding the magazine in to the magazine well. The spring clip may need pushing down a little so that it grips the lug on the back ofvthe mag. If that doesn't remedy the problem I would purchase the newer indexing post and fit that.
@Air cooled the newer indexing post is a solid brass finger that's springbloaded rather than a thin piece of spring brass, most of the ones on sale now are the newer ones...a much better design
@Air cooled yes it's easy to replace, remove the 3 bolts in the indexing cam cover, lift out the cam, remove the original post, clean and lightly lubricate the cam plate, fit the new post into the cover, reseat the cam and screw it back on the the breech unit. Don't over tighten the 3 bolts, the breech is aluminium and the threads can be easily stripped. If you need further assistance email me at dvschesterfield@gmail.com
Not in my and Air Arms opinion. The spring can be manipulated in order to ensure it contacts with the mag cassette at the correct angle. The advice I have given has worked on multiple occasions, if it continues to bend out of shape then it needs replacing.
...Just wondering if it would be possible to bend the spring over a bit without removing the post from the gun to do it?.UPDATE..Never mind, I bought the genuine Air Arms mk 2 indexing post which is a different design on e.bay and that sorted the problem...Just need to get out among the grey squirrels this weekend and show my now fixed Galahad to them !!
