I LOVED this video. Hilarious and informative. I used to fly a group of my West Coast friends to Hawaii annually, using points for their airfare and hotels - all free of charge. There was one time a friend got angry with me for not putting him in F along with my "pal" and my pals brother to HNL...did I mention I'd take everyone for free? Actually another friend (well, a "pal") also harangued me if I flew F or was upgraded to F while he was in Y (yes, air + hotel was FOC for him as well)....geez, I can still remember his yelling in my ear (we travelled often together, so I quickly learned his expectations). I've stopped making the effort...

That "no nooo" of sadness is also how I react when I end up in economy

Clever and humourous. You get what you pay for. Personally, for an intl flight to Europe, I would hesitate to pay for prem econ if it's $1K more than an econ fare with preferred seating. Legroom's not a big deal for me, but privacy (smaller cabin at front) and 3 hrs sleep may be, so PE would then look more attractive. The food's bad in economy, but one can fill up beforehand at the terminal bistros. Just sayin'. cheers.

Cheers from Mississauga, ON & Coron Palawan Philippines! Ricky has the same reaction as my teenage kids when business class on PAL Toronto - Manila was sold out. My wife and I flew premium economy (only 2 seats left) and my kids were seated in row 66. The look on their faces was priceless. The kids are used to turning left when onboarding on an Airbus A350. Turning right - the look of utter disappointment.

excellent video, but should have added comparison of maximum seat reclining to give idea for senior passengers travel.

quick question, I may be flying soon to Canada, and im trying to plan. Did Ricky pick basic economy? and did the second guy pick standard or flex economy? they dont use words like premium economy on places like Expedia.

First attempt at a TPG UK 3 cabin showdown, nicely done but felt rushed in the experience. I bet Ricky still had priority security/boarding and seat 19A on the 787 is a preferred seat for AC elites usually. So not exactly basement economy...

Essentially - no free food in Basic Economy. Same entertainment system in all classes.

What about checked in luggage? It’s 60$ no matter Which class you’re flying in - basic economy, economy, business etc

Hoje fui vítima da desorganização da Air Canada. A chegada do voo de Toronto a Guarulhos atrasou fazendo com que eu perdesse a conexão mesmo tendo comprado o trecho completo até o destino final. Eu mesmo quem tive que localizar o escritório da empresa no terceiro andar do aeroporto para comunicar o ocorrido e pedir providências. Após muito tempo de espera num corredor apertado e insalubre fui atendido por um funcionário que disse me incluiria no próximo voo ate o meu destino final. Após outro tempo de espera o funcionário apareceu com a proposta de enviar-me até o aeroporto de Congonhas onde já teria feito reserva num voo das 16:00. Chegando a Congonhas de posse de tal “reserva” após uma hora de trânsito infernal descobri que tal reserva não existia pois meu nome nem o tal código de reserva constavam no sistema. Após idas e vindas para minha felicidade parcial a empresa Latam aceitou de bom grado incluir-me no voo das 17:15 mesmo tendo eu apresentado um documento de reserva inexistente gerado pelo funcionário da Air Canada. Assim a epopeia que iniciou-se pela manhã somente teve final ao cair da noite.

I flew Air Canada for the first time a few months ago from Denver to Montreal- 4 hour flight. I was so excited to try it, but i was SHOCKED when I discovered there’s no complimentary food (not even a SNACK!!) for economy passengers. Is this a budget airline??? How can you do that and brand yourself as a premium carrier? It just rubs me the wrong way, idk

you guys flew from Vancouver to Toronto. Thats why it wasn't the best for the lower classes. If you go intonational, you get a lot better stuff

Five hours is not that bad. 15 hours is more like it travelling many places from Australia.

As a big guy -- 6'4" / 295 -- there is nothing more annoying to me that seeing a relatively small person tell me that their Economy class seat has "enough leg room."

We also had an life threatening experiance with air air canada.I was travelling to canada with my PR with my child .We were told that you can not board the flight and we had to deal with them on the airport for 8 hours with my 9 year old child. We did not have UK Visa and air canada had trapped us and cheated us.We had to go back to india they did not provide me food or a hotel to stay and not even a flight ticket back to india. thankfully after understanding Uk customs provided us with 2 day visa without any fee the officers also told us that was air canada's Mistake and fault due to that you are facing issues. I heard that this has been happening to alot of people and that case is only and only because of air canada and air india

Ricky should have ordered the pizza in economy class. Air Canada should rebrand their domestic 2-class narrow body (737MAX and 320) business class product Premium Economy. The widebody (777, 787) Premium Economy seats and meals are exactly the same as those on their narrow body business class flights.

None of the meal selections looked especially good. I recently had the fruit cheese and an alcoholic drink - about $20 CAD, it was ok

If I was going a nice vacation I would book my flight back in economy even if I was rich. Valuing money isn't a good thing in my religion, Roman Catholic. This is why you will not find a lot of Punjabi Catholics in Canada because most Punjabi people come to Canada for the money. But why would you want to go to a country with worst food. This is why the only Punjabi Catholic I met likes Canadian food more than Punjabi.

AC food is terrible specially considering the menu is "chef inspired". The lounge food taste better.
