They have 12v automotive ac kits on ebay there is quite a few types. I would say we can probably thank electric cars for the 12v dc compressors.

@@mattjohns3394 higher voltage less current draw, makes sense but in hybrid cars they just have an hellova alternator usually capable of 18-24v also what im using with a 16v battery and alternator regulated to 18v
