My Outlander 2014 gives white powder from Ac vents at starting, I read online that this is due to corrosion on evaporator, do I need to replace or cleaning will help?
No, it will reduce its life and may damage the electrical components or the bearing by the imbalance caused by the foam. The damage may not be immediate, in my case I took about 2-3 months until the blower motor starts being very noisy and my car is not known for blower motor failure hence I struggled to find the part.
Spray into the fan so that the solution blows into the evaporator. Some cars have slightly different design, whereby the evaporator is more accessible, and if so, you can spray it directly towards the evaporator. The blower motor/ fan can be removed without too much effort, and can be better cleaned by washing it. The spray doesn't get rid of dirt along the edges of the fan blades.
