I was going to have a shop install the delete kit but after watching you and all your tips and tricks I decided to give it a go. The shop wanted $1,500 , I did all 4 sides in 5 hrs it wasn’t easy , but it was worth saving that money. I referred to your video often while installing the new kit. Thank you I truly appreciate it. Rich
Great video and showing the struggles that go with this installation. Through the years I've added stuff to my 2000 Z71 and found like you the installation time on the instructions are usually not correct. Great advice on going back and checking torque on the different things. ✌🏻
Thanks for the input! Yea, I dont know where they come up with those install times lol. Maybe with the vehicle already lifted up, wheels off, every part unpacked and checked, every tool youll need lined up, absolutely no struggles at all durring the job and well experienced at doing each specific lift. I dont think they consider that a lot of people doing it are doing it for the first time.
After getting the dreaded suspension messages on my dash while driving almost cross country....i watched your video and ordered virtually the same kit...replacing it ASAP. Will post update! Thanks so much dude
Hey, Im re re rewatching the video and noticed that the UCA's in the kit didnt have a grease fitting for the ball. what grease do you recommend? Im asking because mine do. Thanks again. Tomorrows the big day!@@MegaMilesBen
Great video, Ben! Next time you might find that you'll get more flex and therefore an easier install to the rear if you disconnect both rear links and brake lines before trying to put the new springs in.
The brake lines had plenty of play after removing the 13mm bolt. I did one sway bar link at a time to give the axle some kinda support, Ive had them tip forward on me before (nose dive). I couldve easily used spring compressors but not everyone is going to have them or be comfortable using them. The second side went much easier once I figured where to place my pry bar.
@brandonstephenson5764 Im not really sure on that, this is a clients vehicle. Youd want to check with the place you get the lift. Most of them will say recommended tire size in their descriptions.
@dansobral7 thats something youd want to check out on forums and such or maybe even the dealer. This is a clients car. I would imagine so but it probably wont sit as high. Once youve deleted the air suspension light and compressor, you can pretty much do what you want to the suspension.
Hey, great video. Thanks for taking time to make it. I'm about to remove me RAM's air suspension. The only question I have is, what's the difference between this kit and getting a regular 4inch lift kit? Is there anything that makes it specific to the air system removal?
I noticed a video on the bilstein kit from air delete you have to cut off that back bumper and install a new one . Why is that for that kit and not this one ?
From my understanding when the delete is done to the computer you can go with any lift you want, it’s basically out of the system and has no idea you are altering anything. Awesome video. Few questions how are the cv axels holding up to the new geometry with that lift? Mixed reviews on everything. I live in Wisconsin and tend to need 4wd for snow season I am usually on the road before the plows. Some people say it shakes really bad some say it grinds other say it’s perfectly fine. Just curious as to what you think or have herd… thanks
Na, a bigger guy could probably pull it off easier. Im about 140lbs lol. The springs are tight, thats all. So its not like theyre gonna shoot out and cause harm or damage, theyre not under much pressure at that point. Just wanted to show the struggles that could arise if you dont have compressors.
You should bring the truck back, and have him do a quick after setting in video, to see how it looks. I'm considering ordering that kitty self . Or just seel the truck and buy another rebel without the air ride.
Seeing you using the Hercules makes me wanna go buy some lol, it’s interesting bc I watched another video of a guy saying Hercules is trash and what not but clearly they aren’t .
Ive had them over a year and havent had one single problem yet. I really like them. My Milwakees wouldve gone through 2 chargers and about 3 or 4 batteries by now. I have review videos of the Hercules.
Great video. I am looking at two different kits from Air Delete right now; one being the one you installed. Can you tell me what the purpose is of replacing the bump stops? Why not just keep the original bump stops on? Thank you in advance.
They give you the ability to add longer shocks and not run the risk of bottoming them out. If you get a kit from AirDelete, make sure you use code MMB100 for $100 off.
This is a clients car. He got the kit through AirDelete. I have a link in the video description and also a special code from AirDelete thatll give you $100 off a lift kit.
