well the air force had better looking women too. i was in during the 80s so i cant speak for now. i was in medical ,so nurses were everywhere... fun times...
are you allowed to hang stuff on the walls like posters ? can you bring small items like a instapot and a fun rug to living the place up? just wondering
Yes you can, as lobg as it doesnt put an obvious hole in the wall or tear the paint... so you can do away with push pins.. instapot/rice cooker is not allowed but coffee maker is.. you can decorate your side of the dorm as long as its tasteful and doesnt trigger someone/something 🤣
Just like when air force students is on an army base we get the crappiest dorms while the army and other branches gets the best; thats just the way it goes.
Is the army or Marines the same, or is this really better lifestyle than them. I just want to know if it's true or not that air force has a better quality of life
I know I’m a little late but I got buddies in the marines stationed in Hawaii who are living in a squad bay converted to barracks with original plumbing that predates WW2, black mold everywhere, bullet holes from the Pearl Harbor attacked that also hit the marine base, also they lose electricity from time to time and the AC never works.
Generally quality of life in the AF is better. Better living conditions, more freedom, nicer facilities and on certain TDYs you may end up in hotels getting paid per diem vs being in some on base billets eating out of a chow hall. Of course like everything else your mileage may vary. On the other hand there is a lot to be said about experiencing privations and hardship, you gain things there that are hard to quantify. I had a lot more fun sharing a GP medium tent with a squad than having my own hotel room. Shared hardship and the experiences that come with it helps create the close bonds and friendships that you will remember a long time after you forget a bad nights sleep or terrible meal. So, talk to everybody, look at everything and think about what you want to get out of your military experience. Every branch has a different culture, the culture is usually driven by the mission, the closer the culture is to your personality the better it will be.
