As someone who uses the airfryer a lot, I can say that its basically the same as the oven except the only different is that the air fryer allows for hot air to circulate below the food which allows you to crisp up whatever you're airfrying and the airfryer has better heat circulation but honestly, you can get very similar results if you use a rack to bake on and have a good modern oven.
@@Poppies__ that is because there's a fan inside that helps circulate the air better and the airfryer is smaller than most convectional ovens so the designers use a heating element that can be heated up more quickly than what you typically see in a convectional oven (convectional ovens typically use heating elements that take longer to heat but maintain constant heating temperatures better)

Definitely the air fryer if I didn't have a family. That thing just circulates hot air more efficiently. I would just stick with an oven if I had a family though. Happy NEW YEAR!!!
Quanq my man, u did almost everything right but after you spray the chicken spray the inside of the unit too and also flip the chicken over to cook on both sides.
I'm actually quite keen on the airfryers bc it saves ppl's waist lines who may be tempted to drop something into a deep fryer. Also its green it uses wayyy less electricity than turning on the full oven. Also a great way to introduce kids or young teens into cooking without as much worry of burns ect.. Kinda like a toaster or microwave lol Nice video!
I find it odd that he says its about the same when he makes comments about how the oven baked chicken is more flour-y (generally a bad sign) and makes a comment about how juicy the air fryer chicken is. Sounds like a clear win to air fryer to me? Juicier and less flour-y. Plus, in my opinion, the air fryer chicken just *looked* better. Can't tell how crunchy it was, but it certainly looked crunchier and more golden brown.

Note: When oven frying, skip first flour coating - batter should contain to 2 tbsp of oil and baking powder (use blender to mix well) - Seasoned flour coating need not be sprayed, if all access is really shook off and chicken is allowed to sit long enough for underlying batter coating to moisturize it...
Quang try making italian baked chicken. Lightly dip in canola oil or olive oil then coat chicken in seasond breadcrumbs. Flower coated chicken is for deep frying. Coating chicken in oil keeps it very moist. Its not crunchy but its super flavorfull. Try it with the breadcrumds. you'll love it! ok...bye...bye...

I love the air fryer. It makes my food crispy all around the surface and it’s quick - I don’t have to preheat it. I personally have not used it to cook something, just to heat up food like leftover chicken/pizza/nuggets.

Air fryer IS just an oven- it’s a convection oven and the food is elevated so that the heat can circulate around the food, letting it get crisp. You can achieve something similar in a traditional oven by putting food on an oven safe cooling rack, placing that onto a cookie sheet, and baking

As someone who uses an air fryer religiously, you need to spray the oil if you want the crust to take on that fried level of crunchy. The oil doesnt seep too much into the chicken, most the juice in the chicken is its natural juice. The oil only seeps in the breading. So yeah I completely understand what he meant by that. By the way, if you believe you gotta put ANYTHING in a air fryer without spray any kind of oil on it, then youre gunna have a BLAND time.

Figured something out about flour in the air fryer. If you use an "already cooked" source of breading you won't have to worry about burning or flour taste. To accomplish this I blended seasoned frosted flakes until it became a powder and breaded. You can pretty much leave all the other steps the same.
For future reference, the air fryer is a mini convection oven so although they are the same it heats quicker and maintains a much more even temperature
I think the air-fried food is a lot more juicier because of the rapid air-flow from the fan. It makes different meats swell up fast and the heat starts boiling the internal juices quickly. When it comes to flouring poultry and other meats..Try using different oil sprays...Olive...Canola or even Butter to get different results as far as crispiness and gloss. If you do Hot Wings or Party Wings, use something like honey or something similar to get that crispiness on the outside. I've seen some say that if you use Baking Powder to coat chicken, you don't need to use any oils because the fat from the skin will combine with the Baking Power to give that crispy result....I tried it but didn't seem to work (for me). 🤷♀️ Quang, do some hot wings or party wings next time to see how they turn out. 😉
