There’s a special place in heaven for people who teach others how to find the balance between eating healthy and enjoying a Double cheeseburger with fries and apple pie.
Fellow Josh, I made this recipe on the fly the other day. I defrosted the chicken, cut it, in a chilula and jalokia sauces combined with the egg wash, and a spice blend that was amazing. I added a frank's red hot rub and a ghost pepper rub to the bread mixture. anywhere from 4-6g of both of those in addition to the spices you laid out. I also didn't have corn chex on the fly and had to use an italian bred crum (it's what I had). 10 minutes in the air fryer, 5-6 minutes on each side. One with a toasted bun and one without and a sliver of pickle to complete it for a quick meal before the gym in an hour. Incredible. Amazing. Absolutely delicious. Mine turned out similar to a popeyes sandwich in terms of taste but even better. The chicken was still juicy despite it being cooked a couple minutes extra to ensure I didn't under cook the sandwiches my first time. 11/10, I cannot give enough praise for how good it was despite not having the other toppings ready on the fly. All in all, about 20 minutes in total of work, for a sandwich I will be making on weekends and meal prepping for these upcoming busy weeks.
Had no inclination to have a chicken sandwich tonight, then your video came up as suggested. Immediately had to go to the store and pick up the ingredients, made this as soon as I got back. It was killer - and now I have a bunch of them ready to go the next time I need a snack. Man, your channel really needs to be the next foodtube to explode in popularity.
These are so good it's unbelievable. I paired them with the garlic parmesan potato wedges from your "High Protein Buffalo Chicken Meal Prep" video and it couldn't have come out better.
I thought everyone was hyping up the sandwich because they liked the youtuber but seriously this was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I definitely plan on making these even outside of meal prep at some point. I’m gonna commit the recipe to memory so I can make it for friends and family and stuff and it’ll look like I can cook lol
Says the person who commented that the coolest thing they have ever made was a chicken sandwich that “ absolutely slapped “. 🤦🏿♂️. Was it mad lit with the gang yo ??? Too turnt Tyler over here ………
I like to watch this at .75 speed. Highly recommend. He talks really fast and goes super fast through everything and with the reduced speed it’s a lot easier follow and understand 😊
at least the algorithm is smart enough to suggest these videos to people yes sir i remember when you were at only 16k, i remember it like it was yesterday (because it was yesterday) and now your at 26k
@@ChineseWinnie about a tsp! I've also been adding it and garlic powder to the chicken spice for the buffalo chicken and rice meals when i spice the chicken and let it sit overnight. It really makes a difference.
For those that don't like Spicy much but enjoy the buffalo flavor add an acid of some kind and it helps cut the heat. When I make wings I add a tiny bit of sweet and some vinegar and it really brings the flavor without over dueing the heat. Other notable things could be lime or lemon as an acid.
One thing I learned making this, actually blend the corn chexs with a blender or something. I tried to just crush them, but the pieces were too big and got soggy.
Literally found your channel a week ago and man is this a game changer when trying to get lean just to still have some type of comfort food and shed the fat. Just meal prepped these and they are fucking great 👍 keep up the great content josh. I coated the chicken in light pickle juice as well to bring the chik fila flavor to it and also used Stubbs 0 sugar honey mustard. The breading with the Chex really gives it that fried texture. Bon appetite 💯
"using your palm instead of your fist will help to prevent any unnecessary damage to the chicken, but will make it harder to flatten out," nah dude you're underestimating my APEX SUPER NOVA PALM SMASH TECHNIQUE
Dude you're amazing This looks better than others I've seen... Can you do the same thing with codfish? I tried some anabolic cod recipes and was not enjoying it and forced myself to eat them through the entire week lol....
im doing kinda the same, but i highly recommend trying to use a tonkatsu sauce...there is something about fried chicken and tonkatsu that i cannot describe...it just fits to good. So im doing chicken, salad, tonkatsu and sometimes add some pickled red onions on my sandwiches. I either make the sauce using approx. 3 parts ketchup to 1 part of honey, soy sauce and worcestershire sauce or i tried to add grated ginger and garlic to it which makes it even better but more intense in my opinion.i do alternate between the two variants depending if i make a bigger batch of it or not, the added stuff makes it more...perishable? There are countless other recipes for the sauce...but im to lazy for the richer ones that you need to heat up in the process.
I love this meal it’s so good and easy to make but I don’t think there is as much protein as it says in the description 44g per a whole chicken breast so each sandwich has 27g plus 2 eggs which is 12g/5 so I think it’s more like 30g maybe 35 if you count some Chex mix but that’s generous
I live in Australia and I'd love to give this a go. My only issue is that the only thing we have close to Corn Chex is loaded with sugar and comes in Honey or Chocolate flavours. Does anyone know an alternative?
1:30 you can just spread all of the chicken on the cutting board and then put the saran/plastic wrap directly on top of them instead of moving and wrapping each piece individually in the saran/plastic wrap. same concept and easier imo. i use the back of my knife to tenderize them.
How are you doing the measurements for protein and calorie count? Typically a chicken sandwich is 24g protein but you’re are 44. I wondered the same thing about the high profile Buffalo chicken meal you showed
wouldnt it just dry out more if you freeze it cooked since you have to eat it up again? isnt it safe if you freeze uncooked chicken as long as you heat it up to 165
Yes to a small degree but as long as you don't over cook it either time they turn out fine. You could freeze them raw but most people are already uncomfortable cooking chicken so I recommend precooking for peace of mind
You can make that substitution, but it will not only hamper the finished texture, but also the caloric content. 125g corn chex is 460 kcal vs 125g almond flour is 715 kcal
Could never be me because i love chicken but i despise when its not overly cooked, like near burnt. I guess if i made this i would have to have 2 thinner pieces of chicken or something
No way theres 44 grams of protein in 1 sandwich. That 1 piece of chicken looks like it has 100 grams at best which is like 22 grams of protein. The egg coat is negligible. And the rest of that sandwich has no protein other than that of the bread, which at 50 grams has like 3 grams of protein at most.
mine came out to 94g of protein for 2 sandwiches, 7oz of chicken breast (42g protein) 4 slices of keto buns(36g protein) 2 slices of low pepper jack cheese (10g protein) then the bread crumbs and the egg for the remainder
~4 oz of chicken breast would be ~35 g of protein, ~4g from hamburger bun, trace protein from egg/batter. it really depends on how big your chicken cutlet is tbh
Thanks for this..after done air frying my crust gets soggy like from the juices leaking out. Have you encountered this? Just wondering how to get it crispy!
sorry for the late reply, but it might be worth dry brining the chicken to draw out some of that moisture. It doesn't make the end product dry or anything, but it might help. Just sprinkle some salt on the chicken a while before you cook (anywhere from a couple hours to a day or so), leave it in the fridge, then cook as normal.
