@@EonHSD a local store in Nashville called ROOTED or stay-rooted.com btw they do raffles for most Jordans/dunks/blazers/adidas shoes/stussy/stone island/etc and you only pay if you win, btw it’s a retail store so you pay retail prices for items(so for the 1s I’m paying $200+tax, most of the times they ship tho just not for this raffle/draw bc it was for locals only) and not resell prices
Can’t wait ! I’m shocked I haven’t heard anyone who knows the OGs talk about how the original Natural Grey 1s have a grip tape swoosh and here we get suede. Not complaining but something I’ve noticed
The numbers on the inside of the collar next to the size are the production date. 20- 2020 08- August to 09- September XC- is the factory the sneakers were manufactured in.
These are so simple yet so 🔥! If we can actually go anywhere this summer these are going to get broken in. Had to re-watch your Reverse Bred and NBP reviews for the sizing advice before putting in the bid on StockX LOL
I’m glad to see you’ve elevated your trousers/ pants attire for the past few months. I’ve said it time and time again, that Jordan 1s along with Dunks (and numerous other silhouettes to mention) look more refined with quality trousers. Either tapered and cropped, or straight/ wide and cropped. Please, please, please stay away from joggers, sweatpants, the infamous H&M zipper pants (just zipper pants/ denim in general) like pretty much 99% of all other shoe RU-vidrs wear, because quite frankly the hype-boy look needs to be consigned to the landfill sight to never be seen again. Keep up the good work brother 👍
If memory serves me, the 200809 is the year and months the shoes were made. So 20 is year 2020, made during 08-09 (August - September), and the XC represents the factory location (Guangzhou, Xiaoping). Really hope I get myself a pair for retail, if I don't, hope resell isn't too high.
A year later and Ive sold most of my J1 highs to make space for NBs 😅 kept these, the black toes, and the UNCs and I think that's a testament to how great these are. They are aging phenomenally
Great vid and review as always! I'm so sick of ignorant dumbasses saying the leather on these is trash. Thank you for setting the record straight. These are FIRE and can't wait for Chicagos and Breds to release in this true OG 85 version.
I'm an OG head and have a pair of original 1985 Bred 1s as well as some other 80s Nikes in the same style. Any 80s Nike with a rubber sole was board lasted back then, just like these. Other models that had air bubbles or full poly midsoles (4s, 3s, etc.) were not board lasted and just had a scratchy plastic/fabric thing instead.
So I waited for years checked on these daily on StockX and GOAT and I said when they’re finally a decent even price like $235-$250 max I’ll pull the trigger well today on GOAT they had a brand new pair albeit damaged box for $207 and they were already pre verified by goat I paid $240 all in all what a win!!
Don't own a pair but glad to hear they fit longer and narrower. This how original Air Jordans fit, wrapped the foot nicely. They make em all wide and bulky now
XC is the factory name just like the OG 1985 pair (pretty sure it will be the owners initials of the factory as that is what they did with the 1985’s) FYI my 1985 Chicagos are board lasted for future ref 👍🏻
I was fortunate enough to cop the high 85 reverse breds for retail so hopefully I'll get a W on these to add to my collection. Definitely not worth the hyped up resellers prices so I'll pass if I get the L. Great video and review. 😁👍
If anyone needs to be educated on leather, I would give Rose Anvil a watch. He dissects shoes on RU-vid. Very knowledgeable guy, especially when it comes to leather. His video on Shattered Backboards is a great watch.
XC is the factory I believe. I noticed when taking the soles off other retro 1s there is a XC embossed at the bottom of the cup sole. I.e. ogs that had a TY stamp was from the tong yang rubber company.
These look really fantastic....but just looking at them hurts my feet. When Sean mentioned the stiff thick leather I can't help but remember the sensation of sliding my feet into a pair of AJ1 mids; not pleasant :(
Sean, fellow NikeTalk member, would you say that the main area of potential discomfort in the shoe is the middle section, because the shape is more narrow? …as opposed to the toe box.
I prefer white clean lookin kicks. Might gonna go for it, wish the prices weren't so expensive, StockX (€480 in my sz). Haven't kept up with this yrs releases, as much as last year. Not knowing how limited this releases was, if the prices will drop (secondary market)? I do like the Unc (black/blue), the Hyper Royal Smoke Grey, that will be releasing upcoming months.
these are my only pair of 1s rn. i run a size 13 and feel like they could be slightly wider cuz my feet are wide. when i order my next pairs of jordans, should go up to 13.5 or will 13 probably fit my feet better than these?
I've always been confused why people say its a "better" leather but it feels a lot stiffer on feet. To me a good leather would be something thats supple and doesn't pinch your feet at all, like the SBB's/TS1's/Sails etc. What is it about the thicker cut of leather that makes it...better?
Got a pair of Carmines lined up so I’m gonna be good this month regardless. These may be OG but are pretty boring to me. I’ll be hoping for the Clot 14 Lows instead!
