you all probably dont care at all but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Mohammad Castiel thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@@ChrisNikeJack can you send photos of your pair? idk if ill resell em or not cuz i dont like the look of em new. and i dont know what they look like used 💀
OGs were my grails. Still in shock that SNKRS blessed me on this one! My SOTY already ❤ Personally I've found them to be ok comfort wise out the box, despite requiring a break in. Good times to be a sneakerhead. Need the reverse bred pair now! Thanks for correcting the masses on the leather, I've seen some people call it mid quality - which is a total joke lol.
I've read multiple websites saying the 23k was just a mistake on Nike's part and that the amount was probably much higher, probably why the prices aren't terrible
yea thats what Im thinking as well to be honest. Because the varsity reds that dropped last year were numbered 1 to 23,000. These ones aren't numbered. So im starting to doubt what the stock actually was
Funny cause I’m a size 15 but in Jordan 1 and AF1s I wear a 14. I have these and the reverse blk/reds and they fit perfect. Everyone has different feet types so my gripe with shoetubers is that they give advice on sizing. Never go off of what another person tells you cause their feet are completely different. I wish they’d stop that. Sorry for the rant lol
It took me 3-4 wears to finally kind of have some break in for my Air Jordan 1 85 Varsity reds. Man that 1st wear was excruciating because I wore them all day when my family and I went out and we did a lot of walking that daw. Plus I got wide feet. Now, I just love to wear them and break them in even more. Great review JD! I am about to bite the bullet and pay this resell for the grey joints.😅✌
@@oooosksjsj820 I have only worn mine occasionally bro. They still need more breaking in. Rn they still feel the same but I plan to change the insoles like I have been doing lately with all my AJ 1 highs to make it more comfortable.
I love them at first sight, but not paying resale. And I feel like keeping them clean will be impossible. Most Jordan 1’s look great a little beat up… curious to see how these look with some age
I really like this colourway, one of the best colourways on 1's for me. But there is something I don't like about this '85 shape and I don't know what it is, it just looks a little bit weird on the feet. I don't know, maybe I'm just too used to regular Jordan 1's.
when you look at OG collectors showing off their top 3 85 grail 1's its usually OG naturals, chicagos, and royals too. LOL very clean trifecta tbh. my trifecta is neutrals, chicagos, and fragments.
The Varsity Red didn't do 'well' as a resold sneaker because, as you said, a lot of people recently started collecting Jordans. People don't know leather and don't know history. Btw, the Varsity Red were a PE, which traditionally do better than even OG colorways. That colorway will always be more expensive than this one as they have the same production numbers, but come with numbered dust bags and, as stated, are a PE worn by MJ on the court, even if just for shoot arounds and exhibition games.
I have the original 85s but was pretty bummed not to get these. I’ll probably buy them in the next couple weeks gonna put some money together and maybe ask for my vacation pay
Varsity red 85's will eventually go up. Most !'s that start out high out of the gate usually take like 18 months to start moving up again. That+ Covid + inflated prices on most Jordan's after the Last Dance documentary I believe stalled price increases. Its kinda like when a stock goes parabolic eventually it retraces and finds support before it can move up again. Jordan's overall went parabolic after the documentary.
I hate that they made the toe box longer than a normal Jordan 1 it’s super annoying with regard to sizing and it affects the shape of the sleek silhouette but I still am betting on these going up. They’re absolute fire just wish they would have kept the toe box shape and size from the original 85s
Hello hope all is well I had a question(common one) on sizing so I have wide feet I wear a size 8 I’m off white 5s and the only ones I ever had sadly are the fly knit aj1s and I wear a size 8 in those toe kinda close the edge maybe half a quarter thumb space no more and was wondering if I should still get a 8 in these or 8.5?
Definitely not worth the hype price they're asking for and they're not limited to 23k pairs either. Took a L on these but will wait until the price to go down to get them. Was fortunate enough to cop the high 85 varsity red aka reverse breds. So would love to add these to my collection. Great video and review!😁👍
What I find hilarious about these 85s is that they brought it back with two non OG colorways. But the one actual OG colorway is selling for a couple hundred less than the Reverse Breds. I actually don’t mind paying resale on these just to own the first proper 85 Jordan 1 🤷🏻♂️
I think the reverse breds were a sample back in 85 that Nike scratched for the regular breds & it never released. Reverse breds ain’t bad looking though
@@ericb4498 You might be correct. However you’re not gonna see me spending $600+ for that shoe, when this one has the same leather and can be copped for around $400 on a good day lol
I have a pair of Stan Smiths and an old Vans Collab from like 2013 with this type of leather. I will say it did take me like a good 2-3 weeks of daily wear with my Stan Smith to break them in nicely. They went from feeling like straight rocks to the most comfiest pair of shoes I own 💀
The low cut iteration of these are dropping next month which has a substantial profit margin from its 2015 release, so perhaps people are waiting on those and the high cut price will eventually start to go up after that release around the end of June
Man these are probably my favorite shoes in my collection! Payed 1200 and doubled up! Still breaking them in! I have wide feet and doesn’t feel too bad much better after 3 wears! Don’t size up!
honestly resell on varsity red is probably low because it's not that great of a colourway. Plus the reverse bred lows dropped and those were so easily obtainable. People really didn't feel the need to cop the varsity 85 reds lol
It's actually a great colourway. Personally I think it's better than OG Breds. I got the lows as beaters, and the highs are now a must. The balance of red and black is excellent.
I just think varsity reds are kinda ugly tbh. And I got lucky and hit on snkrs. Predominately red purse is predominantly black makes a big difference aesthetically. Great video as always I love your content.
To each their own man. I guess just I’m referring to the general public I think. Either that or people were just pissed that jb didn’t release the typical bred and give the people what they want
I think I'll stick to my Puma Ralph Sampson Mid thank you; Picked up a pair in the OG White/Navy/Grey colourway for $90 and they are seriously some of the most comfortable leather high-tops out there. Way comfier then Jordan 1s.
@@Roadruuner Granted yes that's true. But when a lack of comfort turns to actual pain, well, that's just silly ain't it? I mean who are you trying to impress?
@@Neil-qg9cw I was addressing JD's comment of how he was in agony wearing these 85 1s. I'm sure some folks out there loves the feeling of 1s; just as much as those who would admit that Jordan sucks balls in terms of comfort, but they still wear it because of the hype. And if that is something you value above pain....well you do you man.
I think resell is low cuz people don't like the 85 cut, and the colorway is kinda boring. But this is a super og colorway in the og cut. So I think resell will be 1300 in 2 years!
They aren't uncomfortable sneakers, you just need to break in the leather. My doctor martens gave me blisters and made my feet bleed the first 5 times wearing them and now they're comfortable, its what happens with good leather shoes
@@riseuplight because they're one of the OG 1985 colourways and probably the cleanest, never retroed before, bigger swoosh and flat back and very good leather quality, they should be worth more
Should have made it a GR. If anyone thinks that the "leather" used on this sneaker is high quality you smoking. Nike knows when to source lower quality or "better" quality per release.
