This is the one thing that bugs me about the whole sneaker game: nice, basic colorways of classic silhouettes become so expensive and hard to get. I love neutral colored shoes, so I get why these are this hyped. That said, theres no good reason they should be-- its just a result of Nike withholding the styles we actually like for years on end before releasing them. What are your thoughts on this?
I know it's all marketing strategy, and basic supply/demand to maximize their profits per pair-- but you'd think they would also want to profit off of the wearability, versatility, and universal appeal by producing lots more of them. What they do makes sense, but it grinds my gears a good bit.
Get into different shoes/brands 🤷♂️ or buy when the hype is down. That’s the culture now, everybody copping to resell. I wanted the ‘85s from last year and I myself live in the Chicago area but I didn’t touch not 1 pair but I saw others with MULTIPLE pairs for retail. I’m still in Jordan’s and Nike’s but w/Jordan 1’s I found the brand Collegium (specifically Pillar Destroyer Highs) and they’re much much better than regular Jordan 1 high OGs in terms of quality imo. The Pillar Destroyers are a mix of the Jordan 1, Blazers and Nike destroyers I believe? Give them a look, they’re coming out with a triple white pair on the 13th I believe

The reason these were so hyped and sought after wasn’t because they were” fire “ these were one of the most discounted over looked color ways 85 . Fast forward nike didn’t release them with the other retros because they were kinda a “flop” sneaker heads started searching them out due to how limited the remaining stock was due to original releases lack luster color way. Hence supply was low demand was high ,price raises hype ensues . They’ cool

What’s crazy for me is I didn’t even know about this one releasing until SNKRS gave me early access. I had to have them, guaranteed retail price for a Jordan 1, I’ll take it. Goodluck to everyone else going for them when they release officially. I know a thing or two about taking L’s. 😂

Not necessarily true. The Trophy Rooms drop the same day so nobody may end up trying for these or everybody will try for both. I’d go for both and I am going to. At least if I score both, I can sell the neutral grey for cheap as I have the Japan’s which are so much nicer anyways, and keep the TRs for the collection.

Digging the denims. As a bigger guy with a 40 waist it's hard to find decent denim as they max out around 36 or 38 waist. Any suggestions for a good denim for a bigger guy that can showcase his high top Jordans? Nice video man looking forward to my pair on Wednesday

Took an L on nike app and like 10 other raffles for these... I'm not even a really a sneakerhead, like you said in the video, these are amazing to wear. I will probably just end up buying the mids triple white to wear instead.

Should have got them off StockX. I'm in Canada and mine came in today and I only paid $100 in taxes and duty. So by choosing Goat you paid an extra $300 basically. Goat you need to fix this!!!
Kind of weird that this was just a regular release with regular materials in 1985 for 65 dollars that just sat around. Nowadays we’ve been so conditioned with mediocrity that this is now a big deal. Beautiful shoe though.

@@Whalenn SNKRS in UK is still saying drawstring bags marking each of 23,000 pairs made. Probably just copied and pasted from the last colourway - they don't put any effort into accuracy or telling a story in their descriptions.
