To be fair, it’s not really their fault. Things are marketed incorrectly and so many reviewers often this misspeak and don’t correct themselves. Sure, they could look it up themselves, but the factors influencing people are busy

Chris and Jody, Thank you for another great video and review. I check out all of your videos as I respect your opinion more than any other out there. I grew up in the 80s and 90s so I remember all the original releases that I wasn't able to buy as a poor kid. I appreciate a lot of the same things you talk about being a little bit of an older sneaker guy. I also really love your Since Apparel line and have bought multiple items. I am ready for something with V's and VI's. I am patiently waiting and ready to buy more. Thanks again!

I remember in the 90’s when suede was common on sneakers. I miss that. I was a kid. They should do all black in suede with a white leather swoosh.

For ppl that don’t know suede is leather that has most of the gain/structure sliced off. The hairier the suede, the worst it is but for some reason ppl like myself love it and hold it in high regard. Nubuck isn’t gna have the plastic spray on it like all the leather pairs and will have gain left in it. Nikes “leather” is gna be hairy suede with plastic sprayed all over it to resemble gain leather. Which is why the shoes are “softer”. So the nubuck is the way to go closest thing to the Georgetown

Not necessarily. Suede is just the underside of the leather. Lots of suedes still have the grain, it's just the other side out. Most nike shoes are going to have kind of crap suede though lol

I still have my 2017 pair and I agree they look great for being 6 going on 7 years old. Honestly the royal blue lace swap looks nice. I may put the blue laces in when and if i get a pair. I still think to me the 2013 shade of royal is my favorite.

When I first saw these, I didn't really like them. They looked cheap from the pictures I saw, but then I saw this video when it came out and they looked much better than they did in the pictures. I still wasn't sure if I would get them but I did end up getting a pair and received them yesterday. They look really nice in hand so I'm glad I bought them.

Not a bad reimagined Air Jordan but i'm passing. My '17 Royals are pretty beat but they still clean up well and i just prefer regular leather / closer to OG over most of these reimagined versions. I do like the bigger swoosh , the wings logo and the toe box and i do think the end result is clean. But suede can be a bit of a headache that i tend to avoid when i can ; durability / fragility concerns , easy to get dirty , trickier to clean and as the vid mentioned can warp over time. Not bad at all but a bit too high maintenance for me when i already have the 2017 Royals still in the rotation. And personally i like to keep it simple with AJ1s with the regular leather often used rather than patent or suede etc.

suede and nubuck are all leather but one isn't necessarily more "processed" or "engineered" more/differently than the other. Suede (the "hairy" leather) is from the underside of the hide and nubuck is from the exterior.

It’s all processed differently to get different results. Treatment for PU coating or treatment for dying a color. One gets buffed and one gets brushed. Different chemical baths etc.

Grabbed a size 8 this morning & due to the material they are a little more snug & the suede was messed up a little but went back & got a 8.5 good fit & the material was way better

Half of my sneaker collection is suede (thanks to adidas, New Balance, etc.) so these are a welcomed touch for me. The suede and nubuck materials look decent and if you properly maintenance them, they can last a long time. I’m on these when they drop!

My 2017 pair is my most hashed pair of sneakers in my collection. The blue on the back panels are almost gone and the heels of my soles have holes in em so i cant rock anymore. These aint as good as the leather ones but im still happy to cop a pair to replace those since the royal 1s are my personal fave J1 colorway

I love Jordan 1s but not into the bred blocking too often n definitely not into this color blue or material. Got the UNC Toes n Palominos this year and that’s enough l😊
