Totally agree with the "poor man's" comment. I hear that a lot on some of the team Jordan shoes. Like that one that looks a lot like a 7. But it's still by Jordan brand and is 150+. It's not a shoe I'd want but I don't get clowning someone for $100+ shoes
the poor mans label just makes those shoes more expensive because people realize “oh these look a lot like those super expensive shoes. im gonna buy them now”

Yo shoutout to Chris, I always dig your reviews but I admit sometimes the "poor man's" label makes things so awkward between friends when talking about something like clothes and footwear. I mean the unions are expensive because of hype and resell but pricewise by Nike's retail they're actually about the same. $170 vs $190. Now they're thousands because of hypebeast not sneakerheads, there's a difference guys...
Its because the sneaker world has been infiltrated by the hip hop "money is everything" mindset that was ushered in by Jay Z and the like, where quality and value for money isnt enough, and throwing money away because you just dont care is seen as gangster. It's dumb as hell.
I think Nightwing is a great bridge between OG and hype sneakerheads as far as commentary. He is so rt abt the label ruining this quality shoe. Even ppl lucky enough to get the shoe will feel self-conscious due to Union label and resale.

Agree with the "Poor Man's" comment, they're about the same price on retail. As for the shoes, they're fire! But making them an all gray suede would've real nice. That said, I'm still tryna cop when they drop because gray sneakers are fire.
Memories came flooding back. IDK why but foreal 99-02' was own a brown sneaker times lol. Those brown 14's were dope with the white upper. Never did pick them up but they were fire.

I think these are some of the dopest air Jordan 1s to come out these are one of my favorite and they may call these the poor man's version but sneaker resellers will buy all the pairs anyways and sell them for double to everybody that works hard to earn their money to hopefully be able to at least buy for retail.

Well the "poor man's" in this sense mean more of a "common man's" version, maybe a GR version. Since the unions and hyped shoes are unavailable for the "common man". So that's probably a better label, the common man's union 1s.

I feel you on the red. But honestly that is what caught my eye. I like it because it comes out of no where. Doesn't look like it belongs but yet it's they're and it's at the top bold in your face. Shit throw on a Old school white Run DMC T shirt with em.
I initially didn't like these at first, but the quality is really fine and I'm just looking at it on videos. Maybe I'll wait for thr dark mocha ones though
