These Air Jordan 11 from 1996 need extra care, but they still top the quality of kicks now! In Today's Customs and Restorations, Vick walks you step by step on how to reglue a midsole and sole to an OG Concord Air Jordan 11. An iconic sneaker like the Jordan 11 takes a little bit of extra care, but it is well worth it!
Due to the age of the sneaker there was quite a few steps to make this sneaker fully wearable all over again. It took a lot of prep work, a little bit of deconstruction and a whole lot of acetone. The most important part of any reglue is the prep from the dremmel to the cotton balls and all the way to the cleaning process.
One deconstruction was done it was time to reconstruct the kicks. After one last round of acetone and a quick dremmel pass on the uppers it was up to Barge Super Stick to make these shoes 100% wearable. Pro tip: Always let your glue cure for an hour or so and bond using a little bit of heat for the best glue job!
Now you have everything you need to reglue your Jordan 11s; are you confident enough to do it?!
To finish the process a quick clean and polish was an absolute must.

Idk why you and others get so worked up about a part of the shoe that: 1: Isn’t widely available on the market. 2: You won’t even see it because it’s not a visible air unit. And please do not tell me it’s because it’s not a true Air Jordan w/o an air unit; I’ve heard that too many times and it comes off as an excuse to be technical.

Have you tried leaving the foam insert protruding and just gluing the upper as is (like unlocked zoom). And let the foam compress naturally as it’s worn more and more. I bet it would feel really amazing under foot. Having it flush I feel reduces that initial bouncy feeling. But I’m just brainstorming.

I still think you guys should work on a UV activated cleaner similar to Nulife Antidote, clean the soles/uppers, steam it off, throw them in the indoor set up and BOOM, brightens up whites and deoxidizes soles all in 1 safe step. Size note, if you did end up icing the soles and they get cooked, I've been working on a solution to rehydrate old firm slippery rubber soles to bring them back and give them grip again. So far tests are a huge success, I just need more beaters with cooked soles to test on. I've seen Vicks stash of old parts, if you guys happen to have any super slippery hard soles laying around I'd be more than happy to take a pair or two off your hands for further testing of my product. 👏

I mean, i love the videos but why using EVA foam and not a new air unit? Idk why but i hate seeing people do that even tho it's an easier way for someone rather than using lil more money on an air unit from someone or even a rep factory, to keep it more 'OG'.

@@Denniz_bu To be fair, some OG shoe collectors do want restored OG kicks (especially game worn) to have everything restored down to the fine details and for all donor parts to be authentic (nothing even from reps).
