My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, ru-vid.comUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.

Sorry to hear that! Does your air purifier have an ionizer function? If so, that could be causing the issues for you. Turn it off, if you can. Otherwise, a standard air purifier with only filters cannot cause health problems of any kind as it doesn't emit anything into the air. However, some people do have trouble with the ions produced by the ionizer function.

I found that the typical humidifier customer bought one for the winter months when their relative humidity was below 40%. 👍 And Yes, you can use an air purifier and a Humidifier in the same room at the same time 😃
That depends on the temperature. Mold needs three things to grow: moisture (i.e. humidity), temperature above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and a food source (i.e. drywall).

Yes you can. In fact, you wouldn't want a humidifier in a room with air conditioning. The air conditioner will work to remove the moisture that the humidifier is adding into the air. So it's kind of pointless with the air conditioner running.
Many basement smells come from mold. If that's the case for you, then you'll want a dehumidifier and not a humidifier. The dehumidifier will remove moisture from the air which can prevent mold growth. The air purifier can remove airborne mold spores. Hope this helps!

Each air purifier has as maximum room size coverage. Some air purifiers are good for 100 square feet while others can handle 1,500 square feet. It just depends on the brand and model. Humidifiers are the same way. Just look for the room size coverage specification when comparing units.

An air purifier should run 24/7 for the most effective use. A humidifier can run all day or just for a short time if you need it to. For example, only running the humidifier at night in a bedroom while a person is sleeping.

Air purifiers can reduce odors directly but dehumidifiers cannot. An air purifier with an Activated Carbon filter will capture the odor particles. A dehumidifier only reduces moisture content in the room. That doesn't reduce odor particles.
