After spending 1 month in Vietnam I can confidently say the air quality in Ho Chi Minh City is TERRIBLE. This is coming from someone who has grown up in Colorado, USA and spent a lot of time in Florida, USA.
If you live an active lifestyle and like to be outdoors you need to be aware of the pollution here before you made any long term decisions about living here.
You might see a blue sky one day out of the week here. That is not an exaggeration. Any "view" that one might have from a balcony is limited to about a 3-4 kilometers.
For the average person who doesn't spend too much time outside everyday it is livable, but if you are constantly walking, running, or biking in the city it will take a toll on your lungs and overall health.
Ho Chi Minh City is a wonderful place with lots to offer those who live here, but air quality is DEFINITELY not one of them.
Let me know what else you want to see or know about here in Vietnam!
