These four light amphibious airtanker Air Tractors owned by Conair were scooping water from Vaseux Lake for hours on August 6th, 2019 while fighting the Eagle Bluff wildfire, which can be seen in the background. Absolutely brilliant footage, I thought I would watch a couple of minutes of it, but I watched it right to the end. Laughed at the kids swimming in the lake, I would have been doing to same and waving to the pilots every time they reloaded. Amazing video!

Kudos to all the pilots who do this kind of work, not for the faint of heart. Ive seen similar techniques used with helicopters fighting fires up the steep mountain sides around Revelstoke, BC. They had big bags suspended below the chopper that they filled up in nearby rivers, then carried them up the mountain and dumped directly on the fire. Then they dropped like stones to get back down and refill. the first time I saw them do that, I was sure they would crash.

Very nice footage. I had an opportunity to load an Airtractor on wheels many years in Alberta. Very powerful planes and very professional pilots. Thanks for a little reminiscing. :-)

That is some awesome footage of this Air Tractor's in action, super cool to see them scooping simultaneously. I guess we'll find out soon what the 2020 fire season will bring!

Sad thing is the fuel only lasts 2.5-3 hrs before they need to fill up. I would personally think having 8 planes in rotation once the first 4 that are empty the pilots should come in and hop into the other 4 and take off and always keep fresh pilots on stand bye
