I saw one in Wonderboom years ago. Had the stinger coming back from the cockpit. Looked very cool 😎

@@JimboBurgess Yeah Wonderboom is the base for the company with the AT's that I was working with, Xcalibur, it would have been their AT you saw, they also used a trislander for airborne gravity. I worked with them when they first started, first a cool project in Botswana then a big difficult one in the DRC, only problem is they cant ferry the gear or the operator, so i had to take crazy african airline flights with heaps of equipment.

The 400hp Fletcher can carry 1260kgs, the smallest Air Tractor AT-402 can carry 1460kgs and the largest (in New Zealand) the AT-602 can carry 2900kgs 🚀🚀🚀

Great question, I get asked this a lot. The Air Tractor is a lot more comfortable to fly and safer, however the Cresco is a powerhouse pocket rocket and can move fert at a very impressive rate!

Spread depends on product and rate. 18m is a rough average for most work without a spreader. I try and racetrack most jobs 😎

They're good fun to fly, that's for sure 🤠

got about 1/2 footage from john over the years. can recall seeing John washing the wheels of his ag wagon in the lake there as he flew home. also taking off and landing on the road due to strips too wet and he had permission to fly of the road got about 1/2 of Culd steveson fly the agria on our farm. with me in it the last one left gone back to the uk i wonder if i should send all 8 mm film to history nz to keep them safe

it took a long two slow turns to get to do the top of dads farm. when the fletcher came. after Culd retired one shot they climbed up. got good film of that all. it may be the only film of these old machines flying i think

That's amazing and a great piece of history. Be well worth getting them preserved. Be happy to do it myself, that history is priceless in my view

@@JimboBurgess make sure we keep contact and i will get all film out of mums office at home. all passed away. still in a big box. be great if u could put on a dvd but it needs preserveing 100% for sure. his planes were green and yellow not sure where that DC3 landed as a kid. may be the old white mans valley glider club days. still recall it today this massive plane twisting and turning in our valley we has a fletcher pilot killed on our farm as well. his name is in that NZ topdressing book then as kids we use to play with the pilots with toy guns pretending to shoot them down. they played the game with us. also had many many rides at the end of the day
